The staff was polite, cheerful, and bent over backwards to assist us in any way that they could. We had a lovely time in the hotel.

"Pleasant Stay"
I enjoyed myself here at the Grand Port Royal Hotel. The staff was very nice. The lobby was always quiet. Do make sure to bring bug spray with you because there were mosquitoes that got into my room. The complimentary breakfast was not all that great. The table and chairs outside for dining are old I barely wanted to sit and eat. They could use more staff on site for the complimentary breakfast serving. It is not a self-serve facility and we had to wait a while for service due to low staffing. There are plenty of flies outside while dining due to the area being so close to the water. Overall, we had a good time. The television barely shows good channels. However, thank GOD for the free Wi-Fi. If you do not have a rental car it is fairly easy to get to and from the airport using the public transportation that stops right in front of the hotel and goes directly to the airport. I would go back but I won't eat the complimentary breakfast.

"Nice hotel that's close to the city"
It's a great hotel if you need to be close to the city and don't want to break your pocket. The rooms are nice but if you like quite that may be a problem. The room I had was nice but the noise level was a bit high. Overall its was ok for the amount of days I needed it for.

"Relaxing and picture perfect but...."
This resort perched atop Kingston's Blue Mountain is absolutely beautiful and enriched by old world charm. Dating back to the late 1700's, the old world charm has been maintained and make this resort truly unique. Owned by music mogul Chris Blackwell who arguably brought Bob Marley to world attention, this resort is special. Pictures suround the restaurant of famed guests from Bob Marley himself to Prince Charles, to Grace Jones to Mick Jaguar....the list goes on and on. One starts to get the feel very quickly that this place is a hidden gem where many well known and unknown have found solice from the craziness of the the rest of the world. Unfortunately, the management nor the staff seem to approach this venue with the sacred reverence it deserves. To put it mildly, the staff and manager (who is on sight daily- probably lives on the property) doesn't seem to take much more pride in working at this place than they would if they worked at the local Holiday Inn Express. This attitude is shown by the overall lack of attention to detail. Items listed on the limited menu in the one restaurant on sight are not available. With only 14 rooms and cottages, one would think that guests would have their choices of a daily array of delicious chef prepared meals from which to choose....not the case. The accoutrements of this place is nothing short of amazing, but the service is average to mediocre at best.

"Nice hotel central in the city."
Pleasant expierence at hotel. Total stay was 2 weeks, clean room with balcony, chambermaids were polite & not intrusive. Not a bad word to say about the staff, found all that I had any interaction were friendly. Hotel premises felt secure. Standard continental breakfast was nothing to write home about in fact every morning found myself upgrading to a full Jamaican breakfast much more filling to start the day. Would stay at hotel four seasons again.

"The price is right "
Good value for money hotel. Very serene. The wooden floors however ensures that you hear all creeks from other rooms. The walls are thin making it easy to hear conversations in the hallway. Although the continental breakfast was not really continental as it did not include even eggs, you could order from the menu.
