“Great Motel in Kingston”
I stayed here while travelling through eastern Ontario and I'm glad that I did! The owners were very friendly, supplying an ethernet cable for me for the free Internet. This was needed as the wireless was available, but inconsistent. The room was basic, but not in a bad way. The bed was very comfortable and felt fairly new. The room had a fridge that could be plugged in if needed. There were people next door, but I couldn't hear them aside from the noise that they made when they were standing outside my door. It should be noted that you can hear the train horns from the Kingston subdivision a few miles away. This ends after about 10pm, I think. I was very pleased with the overall experience and the value I got from this motel. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a quality motel experience.
“Friendly, Affordable, Kingston's best Motel.”
I was extremely impressed by Seven Oakes Motel. The owners were very friendly, flexible and accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and well-maintained. I look forward to staying here again, this time in the summer to make use of the pool! Thank you so much for such a pleasant stay!
“Clean, friendly”
Stayed overnight in a clean was clean, quiet and well kept. Owners were friendly - when they saw there were three of us, they brought an extra set of bathroom linens to the room for us. Very pleased.
“Inexpensive, clean and quiet”
My husband, son and I needed a place to stop for the night en route from Montreal to western Ontario and this motel met all our criteria: clean, quiet, affordable, and easy to access from highway 401. We arrived at 10:30 p.m. and staff was welcoming and courteous. The room was comfortable, the bathroom clean, and the only noise was the humming of the refrigerator which we plugged in on arrival to chill some drinks we had with us. I'm generally very sensitive to noise and the fridge noise didn't bother me. I can't comment on the functionality of the heating or cooling systems as we arrived on a day when it was temperate so we didn't need any climate control in the room. We had a parking space right in front of our room. If you expect all the amenities of a hotel, this is not the place for you. The towels are clean but not hotel-style fluffy and the room is by no means luxurious. The motel ad mentions a play area - I was expecting a playground, but all we saw was an area for playing basketball or ball hockey. There are no cots for babies or toddlers but our 22 month-old son was fine sleeping in the bed with us. The pool was not yet operational. There is no restaurant so we got breakfast at McDonald's which is a short drive down the street. There are other restaurants close by as well. I'd recommend this motel to travellers looking for basic accommodation, a good night's sleep and no unpleasant surprises.
“EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE $”
I spent two days at Seven Oakes in early February 2012. The room was relatively simple but very clean, and quiet. In addition to the king-size bed and sofa there were two comfortable arm chairs and a round table to spread out maps and newspapers. I met both owners, a very friendly couple who were clearly interested in the comfort of their guests. A squeaky front door was fixed within minutes of his being advised. If you are looking for affordable accommodation in the west end of Kingston, I can certainly recommend this motel. Many restaurants, a large Chapters book store, the dozens of big stores along nearby Gardner's Road, and the absolutely huge Cataraqui Mall are literally just minutes away. This was winter, but the on site swimming pool would be a great summer bonus for families. Allan
“A Princess on Princess St.”
I arrived at the Border and was told that the currency exchange was closed on Saturdays during winter. Fortunately, the lady at the desk of the motel was very nice and exchanged American for Canadian money! She made me feel very welcome to Canada! The motel still has some old things, but they have been systematically upgrading. I will stay here again if I'm in the Kingston area.
“Very nice Motel”
I was very impressed by the friendliness of the couple running this Motel. very nice people and I will stay there again if I need to go to Kingston again.
“Great value for the money.”
Couldn't ask for better value in Kingston. Older motel, well maintained, and VERY clean and comfortable. Charming owner. Very pleasant stay.
“"Excellent value"”
Warm and friendly owners focused on ensuring guests are made welcome. Accomodation is very clean with all essentials. Motel is well located on main road in a major retail area. I would not hesitate to stay there again or to recommend this motel to others. It's the best 2 star motel I've stayed in by miles.
“Great place to stay in Kingston”
Seven Oakes is a great place to stay. For one the room was clean and tidy. The service was awesome. I will definitely come back to this motel on my next visit to Kingston.
