“Diamond in the rough!”

As we pulled in we found the parking lot crammed with cars. We were second guessing staying here. Then we said its almost 11pm we are not going to find anything else. We got the room key from the friendly desk clerk and headed to our room. As we walked in we were completely shocked. The room was newly updated, new furniture, bedding, LCD TV, wireless internet. The bathroom was very nice aswell, would definitly go back!

“Very Good Experience”

I was attending a computer science conference in Kingston and so stayed at Howard Johnson Inn from June 21 to June 26. Overall, it was a very nice experience. The hotel was very good. Room was large with a big flat screen tv, bath room was big (with a full tub that you usually dont find in budget hotels). room and bath room were very clean. some reviwers had suggested that the area looked seedy. the princess street on whcih this hotel is located is a very long street. this part of the street did look a bit seedy but nothing dangerous. a local resident told me that in general kingston itself is very safe with little crime. so all in all a very good experience and i will stay here if i ever visit kingston again.

“Great room for the price”

We stayed at Hojo's 2 nights. We had a very nice size room with a small microwave and refrigerator. Both were very convenient since we like to have snacks and drinks for the kids. Although the location was convenient to the downtown, the couple of blocks surrounding the hotel were not that great. However, that did not effect the quality of our experience. Breakfast was descent; with 3 kinds of cold cereal, bread, bagels, and English muffins, waffle iron, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, and coffee. I would definitely stay again. The staff was friendly and helpful.

“Our stay at a superb hotel the Howard johnson”

Our experienced of the hotel were superb; we enjoyed our stay there, the room were tidy to our satisfaction and we wont have any problem coming back there,thank you for your superb services,our breakfast also were contented we ate to our satisfaction.

Good quiet rooms/ friendly staff/ inexpensive/ pool table. what more could one ask for?

“Sleep like a Baby!”

Clean and nice room. Current decor and bedding, with expensive flatscreen tv, fridge and microwave. (Nice touch as sometimes you need to heat something!) The beds were divine! Slept like a baby and my two travel buddies said the same. The staff were upbeat and efficient. We were missing 4 pillowcases on our pillows but that was remedied quickly. The breakfast that was included was simple--waffles, juice, fruit.

“Pretty good for the price”

I didn't know the Howard Johnson had moved, I lived in Kingston a few years ago and the HOJO was by the water front, now it's more outside of the downtown core but still not a bad location. The room was clean and it was quiet for the two nights we were there.

“Good budget hotel with pool”

We were looking for a hotel for one night that would not break the budget. Hotel was comfortable; appreciated the pool. Nothing fancy- but staff was helpful and location was convenient.

“Keep going back”

Really enjoyed this place. The rooms were very nicely decorated and very clean. Had a problem with air conditioning and within minutes, we were moved into a gorgeous suite. Customer service couldn't have been better. Would have been there this weekend, but hotel was full so we did not travel to Kingston. Our next stay will definitely be at this hotel.

“Much improved”

After reading the negative reviews about the non-renovated rooms I almost didn't book there; but I specified a renovated room and was told they no longer rent out the non-renovated rooms in any case. The changes were good: the room had coffee-making facilities, a small fridge, microwave and flat-screen tv. It was clean. The only negatives were a too-soft mattress (which nevertheless seemed new), and the location (not a great area of Kingston, though 5 minutes from downtown). The staff was helpful and went out of their way to ask if I needed anything. Anything negative posted before July 2012 needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
