We stayed here for one night from 7-8 April 2024. The toilet was not working. Housekeeping came to fix it but did not succeed and in the process somehow took the door to the room off its hinges. (He had stuck something in it to jam it open while he went back and forth). Neither the door nor the toilet was ever properly fixed. They gave me a plunger to use. It was cold so I turned on the heater. Black soot flew out of it and I quickly turned it off. The TV did not work and the Internet was poor. We slept ok despite noises from neighbouring rooms. We asked Expedia to request a partial refund based on our experience. The management refused.

This property is extremely dated, dirty, smoke smelling. It comes across as a local residence for homeless and addicts. The vibe upon entry is enough to turn most away. Not recommend for a family or a get away. Just a bed and roof over your head. Door security latch broken, phone broken, bathroom door handle fell off, rusty toilet paper holder. Would suggest some security presence to help provide some re-assurance that it’s safer than it appears. Questionable if this property meets Econ Lodge standards. Should have read the reviews prior to booking.

I know it is a budget hotel, and we just needed a bed to rest. Smelly and dirty were the rooms. Needs maintenance and upkeep. Nonsmoking room smelled of years of smoking in it. Convenient location , staff was nice and professional, just an old building in need of upkeep and maintenance.

Smells terrible, they need to rip out the carpets throughout the hotel. Major renovations and refitting required... everything is old and dared. The staff was great though.

I hated waking up to a cockroach crawling on my arm. Thankfully, I was able to get my money back, but leaving in the middle of the night having to spend more money on another hotel, absolutely brutal.

The whole hotel smells musty. The towels didn’t look clean, and being touring musicians, having no elevator, let alone a cart to carry your stuff in, climbing stairs was NOT COOL.

Good value for the money and breakfast included was nice. clean rooms and very friendly staff however One of the exit doors kept being kept open which didnt make us feel safe and the location is a little bit sketchy..

We had to walk through homeless people to get to the front door. Staff were courteous enough. Halls smelt of urine and crawling with cockroaches Room was still dirty from previous people… We would have cancelled, but there were no other hotels available in the area.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! RUN!! To start the outside was dirty, and we had to go through a crowd of homeless people that were living against the side of the building in the parking lot to get inside. Inside the lobby was dirty. We got to our room and it was literally CRAWLING with Roaches and Bedbugs!! They were not only under the mattress, but swarming the walls, doors and hallways!! I have never seen anything like it! We immediately went back to the desk and told them we are not staying there and wanted our money back. The man behind the counter gave no argument but said I would need to get my refund from Expedia. As I was speaking to him another lady arrived from out of town to get her refund that she has been chasing as well. This place should be shut down.

Just a motel, run down, shady people loitering in front, room smelled musty, tv didn’t work. Was the cheapest room I could find though and staff were nice. They also charged my cc even though I paid through Expedia. Expedia had to contact the hotel to get the charges refunded.

You may want to consider removing this from Expedia. It was extremely dirty and it smelled. The hallway was awful. The doorway at the entrance had crumbling concrete. There were questionable people around the building. It was very creepy. We did not stay more than 15 minutes until we found somewhere else.

We’ve killed a few cockroaches and bugs in our room. The hallway was dirty and smelled strange. Originally We booked for 4 nights and we had to check out after the first night due to the terrible condition. We had to cancel the rest 3 nights booking . I am unable to contact Expedia for refund at this moment . Expedia hotline is a joke with waiting music only and no one answering

We had to find a place to stay for our night in Kingston and with limited availability we were pleased with finding out that econolodge was able to accommodate our stay. Unfortunately the synopsis of our stay was: you get what you pay for. Our check-in experience was fine and the entrance to the premises was welcoming. When we walked into our standard king room we were promptly welcomed with a HEAVY scent of smoke. Our sheets had a visible cigarette burn through the sheets on the left uside of the bed, further the room was haphazardly cleaned as there were old French fries by the foot of the bed and reminisce of crumbs everywhere. Our check-out experience was just as good as our check-in - fairly smooth. Lastly, the understanding that breakfast was provided was fairly lack luster with a minimal amount of options. Overall, out of 10, our stay was a 4. Room cleanliness could greatly be improved which removed from most of our experience at this Econolodge, and breakfast selection could be improved to provide more fruit options.

I find it very appalling that the property manager/hotel was not considerate to my situation. I requested to cancel my reservation 2hrs after the cancellation policy due to being told by doctors that day that my bone marrow surgery for my cancer was pushed backed to a later date. It took the hotel one week to get back to Expedia staff. Very disappointing and unimpressive. Shame on you.
