I won a trip to Maui and was put up in the luxerious Fairmont. I had the option to extend the trip, which would be at my own expense. I decided to move to a more economical hotel (the Fairmont is gorgeous, but very pricey), and chose Maui Coast. I am so happy that I did, and I actually preferred it, even removing the substantial price difference. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere among the guests was so fun an communal. I was staying by myself, and always had people to talk to when I wanted to, and was given great suggestions for restaurants and great places to check out. The hotel is also in a location where there is lots to do without even needing to rent a car. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience.
"Nice, especially for the price, but a little old."
Friendly staff at the front were helpful with resolving any issues with my stay (vending machine ate my money) and gave good advice on where to eat, and discount tickets for snorkel rentals. The rooms are quiet, and clean, though a bit dated, but for the price, I really can't complain. The main reason to stay here is to be by the beach and it's right on the beach.
Just had a 3 night stay in Maui at the Maui Beach Vacation Club. Very comfortable, convenient to shops and restaurants, and the beach right across the street. Nice pool, complimentary breakfast on some mornings with orientation. 2 bedroom suite had everything - master bedroom with en suite bathroom, king bed and TV. Second bedroom with twin beds, and there is a second full bathroom, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, washer and dryer as well! We didn't want for anything.
Walk to beach in 2min and staff in hotel are super kind and friendly.
It's a little bit far from busy area so we loved this place! Quiet and comfortable.
We'll definitely go again coz we were really satisfied.
Don't forget to go to sun deck is at 3rd floor.
We"ve stayed at Kamaole Sands over seven times and have had the best accommodations every time, it's location to beaches, restaurants and malls is only minutes away. All the options offered by Kamaole Samds makes it almost impossible not to have a great time.
This was our first time staying in Maui, it couldn't have been any better. Sugar beach resort has some of the best views along with a perfect location right in the middle of many actives. We were able to visit various places north and south of the resort, only needing to travel 30 minutes tops in each direction. Great little restaurant/bar right next door with some very nice people. Checking in and out was very simple, the condo was very clean and had everything we needed. We spoke with many other travelers that have stayed at multiple places on all of the islands and they said Sugar Beach was their favorite.
Kihei has many big-city amenities, including notable restaurants. Here, visitors can sample Hawaiian cuisine and learn about the state’s obsession with SPAM, the canned meat. Kihei’s beaches—Kamaole, Keawakapu, Kihei, and Mai Poina—are good for walking, swimming, and windsurfing. Makena Beach, south of Kihei, is aptly nicknamed the Big Beach. This beach is 100 yards wide and almost a mile long.
