Kihei has many big-city amenities, including notable restaurants. Here, visitors can sample Hawaiian cuisine and learn about the state’s obsession with SPAM, the canned meat. Kihei’s beaches—Kamaole, Keawakapu, Kihei, and Mai Poina—are good for walking, swimming, and windsurfing. Makena Beach, south of Kihei, is aptly nicknamed the Big Beach.
