"Quiet convenient stopover near Reading"
Comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast. Only problem - we couldn't turn the heating off at night and it was too hot.

"Central Reading Location Thames party"
We spent 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza Reading in the UK for a birthday gathering on the Thames. It was a perfect spot for our needs and we would recommend it. However, the only shortfall was less than stellar reception desk employees. Understaffed at check out -- only one clerk at the desk at noon, the hotel's mandatory check out time, and several peoples waiting. Overall, a very good rating but the management really should staff the desk better. Both with having extra staff and those who are more helpful.

"Great stay"
Lovely quirky place to stay, old building with wonky floors and lots of character. Superb breakfast, huge choice of different foods. Staff were extremely impressive and professional, would definately stay again if I'm in reading. As it was in central reading, city centre was on the doorstep. Very very happy with my stay.

"Good proximity to the train station/ town centre."
Enjoyed my stay. The interior decoration might not appeal to everyone's taste as it's quite a dark theme, mostly black. Decent room size and friendly staff. Breakfast is a bit expensive but tastes good.

"Beautiful room, very small car park."
My room was spacious and comfortable, with lovely modern bathroom, and tea/coffee making facilities. The receptionist was really helpful and friendly. The only downside to staying here is the car park, which is very small, although there is an NCP car park opposite. I am giving 4 stars for the overall experience as I had two unwanted wake-up calls at 5.30 and 5.45! These scuppered any chance of more sleep. I was given a complementary breakfast as compensation, and told there was a fault in the system they were trying to fix.

"Great Pub- Great Food Poor Room"
We had been looking forward to a stay in Henley and broadly we were not disappointed- but with a few caveats. The hotel is 7.1 miles from Henley and a £12 taxi fare. The taxi was quickly and helpfully booked by the manager for us- it arrived promptly and was very smart- A spotless Mercedes- we used the same company for the return and were transferred in a brand new Audi A6. Our arrival was easy and efficient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is not rural as the pictures may suggest. The only real disappointment was the room itself which had a broken shower a broken toilet seat and toothpaste in the sink. Pretty skanky really. The bed was Ok but had seen better days- there is no air conditioning despite that being shown on Expedia. I mentioned the issues on checkout and the very apologetic manager gave me a discount which helped ease my pain! In fact he dealt with the issue very well indeed. Breakfast was great- served quickly and high quality. All in all a lovely little place- urgently in need of a guest room makeover- clean up- redesign to even vaguely justify the price tag.

"Adequate at best."
Purely functional hotel with little charm. Entrance and dining room nicely decorated and modern. Check in and out was simple and easy. Room was large but disappointing with stained carpets and paint dropping off the ceiling. Breakfast was full english and was OK.

"Hotel with character in perfect position"
My wife and I stayed at this hotel whilst visiting our daughter, her partner and our new granddaughter. It's situated in Sonning, a village full of charm and character on the banks of the Thames. My wife and I had no trouble locating the hotel, it had plenty of parking, the reception staff were very welcoming and efficient and once we arrived at our room we were pleasantly surprised by it's spaciousness, cleanliness and comfort. It has a 3 star rating, but we think that is an injustice. 4 star at least in our opinion. we breakfasted twice during our stay, once, "full English", and once "continental". Both were delicious and were served in a lovely dining room overlooking the gardens next to the river. We ate dinner on just one evening, and this is where our only negative comment comes in. It was served in a small room at one end of the property on what appeared to be "cafe" type tables. Perhaps they don't get many in for dinner? and consider this room adequate. The food was excellent and the service, superb We would definitely stay here again
