Location was convenient, near the grocery stores, restaurants and public transport as well as nearby the beach. The owners are very sweet and helpful. Good location to travel to Kissamos or the main/old city of Chania.

Our stay was marvelous, highly recommended! A wonderful welcome! We arrived quite late (around 11pm) and the hotel's owner waited for us and gave us a wonderful welcome. The room had a beautiful welcome package included: raisins, olive oil, orange jam, a bottle of Samaria Water, and even a bit of Greek Liquor. A very unexpected but thoughtful welcome. Location The property location is excellent, just 5 min walking distance from the beach, bus station to Chania, ATM, restaurants, and supermarket. Spaciousness, quietness, comfort We stayed in a 2 room apartment with 4 beds, a balcony (amazing sea view), a kitchen and a private bathroom. The balcony had a table and chairs, so we could enjoy eating or relaxing there enjoying the beautiful sea view. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and the beds super comfortable. Each room had independent AC. The kitchen was very well equipped which was very convenient because we cooked a lot during our stay. When the balcony door was open, we could hear the relaxing sound of the waves. The hotel is very quiet for a relaxing evening/night. The cleaning lady came every other day to do the cleaning. The room also had a TV and many pillows available to increase our comfort. Very safe! Interaction with owner Mr. Antonis was very friendly and helpful. He made sure we had a comfortable stay. We will definitely go back to stay at Melina's hotel and we highly recommend the place. Perfect place to stay alone, as a couple or with your family.

Owner was very odd. When we arrived, we rang the doorbell for her apartment. She then entered the hotel and didn't ask us any questions. She simply looked at us with an expectant look. We told her we had a reservation and under which name it was. She simply kept grunting at us but did not talk. She finally pointed to a note she had written to tell us to go to our room and the key was in the door. She showed us to the room then started speaking (so we now knew her lack of communication was not because she couldn't speak English). The room was dirty. There was mold on the shower tiles and door. The air conditioner in the main room did not work and the air conditioner in the other room was very weak. There was a cat that kept trying to get into the apartment and would move between the window to the door. It did get in initially when we were not paying attention and started biting a yogurt container on the counter. THE WORST PART: We went out to Chania for dinner (about a 25 min drive away) at about 8pm. The owners knew we had left as we chatted with the husband before getting into our car. When we returned to our room, there was a receipt on the table where they charged my credit card for the hotel. They had signed the receipt under the customer part and had made a signature which looked like my name. They had also moved some of our stuff in the room and had closed a window we had kept open (at the top, so the cat could not come in) because it was warm.

Kato Stalos and Melina’s.
Melina’s is an ideal place to stay in the north west of crete. Kato Stalos is at the end of the maleme gerani platanias Agia Marina strip. It is in my opinion the nicest part. Melina’s is just up the slight hill and a nice quiet area which I suspect would be appreciated by summer visitors. Hosts are lovely and welcoming. Rooms are clean and have pretty much everything you need no matter what time of the year. There is no pool but a lovely beach is only a short walk away. Would highly recommend walk to Agia lake - you will be surprised at this lovely place. Restaurants are highly recommended in this area too. We went early season but saw Levitas (?) in old town and the views were stunning unfortunately it was closed as was Amathystos which is highly recommended. Marias and Domitian were however gorgeous and food was excellent every night. Euripides howl and bar was also excellent and would recommend food and local wine - staff were very friendly too. Erountas in Agia Marina was also nice. Thanks to all at Melinas and Kato Stalos for a wonderful time.

Quiet friendly apartments
I booked this about three days before I travelled....what an excellent find. The apartment was clean and fresh with a balcony looking across towards the sea which was about 5 mins stroll away. The apartment was well equipped with cooking facilities. Being slightly off the beaten track, the vicinity is very quiet especially at night although there are numerous tavernas, coffee houses and bars in easy walking distance. There is a good internet connection. Ndonis and Melinda were very welcoming hosts.

Perfect for a family holiday !
We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very adequate for a family of four. Clean and tidy with decent wifi. The hosts are fantastic and always happy to help and point you in the right direction. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and a short drive to Chania town. Perfect for a family holiday as Kato Stalos is quieter than its neighbouring tourist areas. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely family run studio
We were very happy with the studio and the owners, Antonios and Melina, were very welcoming and helpful at all times. The house was in a nice quiet location but only a short walk to the local beach, tavernas and shops and there was ample free parking outside the house for our hire car. Lovely house and studio with lovely owners.

Peaceful stay with nice apartments & lovely family
Lovely family who invited us down for Taking one night and gave us salad vegetables from the garden on another as well as spending time initially to explain the locality and places to visit (over a lovely glass of free fresh orange). The room was a fully equipped apartment at the top of the building with a large balcony with a sea view. It also had air con which was important. The area was quiet apart from a few barking dogs now and again (same all over Crete) and was only 5 minutes from the sea and supermarkets, bakery, restaurants etc. Even though Melina and her husband were very friendly,they were very low key and non-intrusive as were the cleaning arrangements, which were every other day, mainly after midday if you wanted a lie-in. All in all a lovely re lovely relaxing stay and would fully recommend staying there to anyone who appreciates peace and quiet. The price was also excellent.

Melina's House is ideally situated,only 5 minutes walk to the beach with a lovely view from the balcony over the sea, while slightly away from the busy coast road with its endless traffic and busy tavernas. It is really a calm oasis and Antonis and Melina are so friendly and welcoming - with offers of coffee, raki, fruit and homemade delicacies - and always ready to advise on where to go and how to get there, or just for a chat. The rooms are bright and clean and well equiped, the beds are comfortable, there is air conditioning, wifi, and it's 15 minutes by bus to Chania. Perfect. We had a lovely stay.

Great place with herbs and nice hosts
Melina and Antonis were wonderfull hosts. We especially enjoyed mint, origano and other herby growing on the balcony. Every morning we prepaired ourselves a tea from fresh mint and greek salad with a bit of fresh origano. Antonis and Melina gave us privacy, but they also kindly helped us as we asked for additional information. Antonis advised us some of the best beaches that we have visited.

Super cute little family run house!
Good location, if you prefer peace and quiet - everything is still very close (couple of supermarkets and many restaurants about 3-5min walking distance, close to the beach as well). We stayed in a room with a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. Having breakfast on the balcony while enjoying the sea view - getting lost in the waves, was just incredible. Melina and Antonius are amazing hosts - they have a great sense of humor and are easy to talk to. They also went the extra mile helping us really feel at home (looked up bus schedules for places we wanted to see, helped us with renting a car when all the places nearby were already booked, found a good gym for us etc.) Cannot thank them enough - wish you all the best guys!

Des vacances formidables dans un endroit de rêve. Antonio et Melina sont vraiment adorables et prennent le temps de vous donner des conseils, discutent avec vous avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Anfitriones de lujo.
Si se busca por sobre todas las cosas un buen servicio y ambiente amable y servicial, este es el lugar ideal. La familia es un encanto, llenos de detalles, desde una bienvenida en la habitación con frutas, raki, aceite de oliva, agua y zumos, hasta tarta y galletas caseras de regalo el dia de pascua. Después de regresar cansados de una larga caminata, Antonis nos invito a café, raki y su mujer nos convido con un riquísimo dulce casero. Tanto los dueños como su hija nos dieron muy buenas recomendaciones. La habitación es amplia, muy limpia, con una pequeña cocina bien equipada y una cama muy comoda. El entorno es tranquilo, pero cerca de restaurantes, supermercados y una bonita playa. Recomiendo Melinas House al 100% y esperamos volver pronto.

Spędziliśmy tu 4 dni. Szukaliśmy miejsca bez hotelowego zgiełku, komfortowego i w dobrej lokalizacji. Apartament w rzeczywistości odpowiada temu co zobaczyliśmy na zdjęciach. Czysto, przytulnie. Właściciele serdeczni i bardzo pomocni. Znaleźliśmy Melinas house na faceboku i zobaczyliśmy, że właściciele prowadzą również winnicę. Gdy zapytaliśmy o tą winnicę gospodarz poczęstował nas swoim winem. Wyborne! Ważne - jest miejsce do zaparkowania auta. W pobliżu wiele restauracji i sklepów. z pewnością tu jeszcze wrócimy! Ont est très bien reçu avec un rafraîchissement. Puis il nous montre l appartement qui est chouette . Il nous conseille des lieux qui pourrait nous intéresse. Très aimable et correct

Inizialmente abbiamo avuto problemi nel trovare la posizione dopo aver chiesto ad un locale ci siamo arrivati senza difficoltà.abbiamo trovato il proprietario ad attenderci con una bibita fresca come benvenuti.Camera pulita con vista mare anche se non proprio tanto vicino.. parcheggio per la macchina in strada vicino l'hotel.sevizio internet molto buono..L'unico neo è che ho dovuto insistere molto per avere la ricevuta dell'avvenuto pagamento del soggiorno..

A perfect vacation
We had a super nice welcome, and living at Melinas House was perfect for us. The nicest hotel owners I've meet so far, with very good service, help full tips and nice chit chat. The appartment was nice with everything we needed and the village, Stalos had a beautiful beach and friendly local resturants.

Vacanza piacevole
Abbiamo alloggiato da Melina's House per una settimana.... Posto comodo e accogliente. I proprietari sono stati veramente molto gentili. Ci hanno illustrato la zona e dato molti consigli. Abbiamo noleggiato la macchina nel rent a car vicino i cui proprietari anch'io estremamente molto gentili. La prima sera abbiamo cena presso un ristorante/locanda tipica greca proprio dietro l'hotel (dietro suggerimento del proprietario) e anche lì ci siamo trovati molto bene. A 4 km c'è un'altra piccola città dove la sera i locali sono tutti aperti e c'è molta vita. Stalos è molto più tranquilla invece. Abbiamo anche noleggiato una bici per 5 € al giorno per spostarci. Chania è raggiungibile con gli autobus che passato praticamente ogni 10 minuti alla farmata vicino al Melina's... Vi consiglio proprio questo alloggio... Per la gentilezza, il posto, la comodità...

Fantastic hospitality of the owners (family business). Spacious, clean apartments with large balconies and beautiful ocean views. Maid service every other day with fresh linen and towels. Close to beach, shops and bus to Chania. Really good value for the money!

Dårlige senger
Hotellet ligger ett godt stykke fra stranden. Må gå langs farlig vei med unger til strand. Men sengene er det verste med hele oppholdet. De var harde, og gamle og bør skiftes ut. Hotelleieren er i overkant opptatt med å spørre hvor du skal til enhver tid, og tar tiden din om du ikke avviser ham/ungår ham. Alt i alt en fin ferie, men ikke barnevennlig, ikke basseng på stedet, dårlige senger og en farlig vei og gå på og en ganske plagsom hotelleier. Kommer til å velge noe annet neste gang:)

Vi skulle landa sent och komma till hotellet mitt i natten, fick ett mail där ägarna hälsade oss välkomna och sa att det var bara att stiga in och att nyckeln satt i dörren På rummet fanns vatten och en melon till oss som ett välkomnande På morgonen hälsade dom och erbjöd att skjutsa oss till stora supermarket och talade om för oss vad som fanns att göra i Chania Ägarna var väldigt trevliga och tillmötesgående. AC och säkerhetsbox ingick och fanns på rummet Städning var 3 e dag Tyst och lugnt område. Ca 150m till stranden
