“Definately return”

The Lake hotel is truly lovely and set in a beautiful location - we awoke to a magnificent view of the lake with deer roaming infront of our window. It has an olde worlde charm, spotlessly clean spacious room and the breakfast is highly recommended. If you are celebrating a special occasion then you wont go wrong here. It is near to Killarney town and all the local scenery, great food, great pubs and lovely people. 10/10 from us.

“Hotel with terrific setting”

The view from the room was uplifting and beautiful, castle ruins, lakes, mountains and wildlife. That alone would be worth the stay. But room and hotel were comfortable with a nice old-world charm, despite the modernish look from the outside. Staff were friendly and very helpful. An ideal base to explore the wonders of Kerry.

“One View, Endless Scenes”

The location of the hotel is the best in Killarney, with the fantasic view of Lough Leane and the sometimes dramatically changing scenes as the clouds drift over the mountains. An excelent base for the Ring of Kerry and Ring of Dingle. Also the lesser known inner ring of Kerry that cuts inland from Killorgin, passing Glencar and coming out onto the N70 in between Sheen and the lovely town of Kenmare.

“Large complex beautiful setting”

Our room overlooked the most spectacular beautiful lake, peaceful. Good room, and large well appointed bathroom, comfortable. Our 5 night stay would have been improved if we could have eaten there for 5 evenings, but service so slow, and disorganised. They had a function at the weekend, possibly the reason. We went out to Killarney, wonderful restaurants, enjoyed these.

“OK but not as nice as it appears”

The grounds are beautiful offering a lake and castle on the premises. We were "upgraded" to a deluxe lake view room....but it a very long and INCONVENIENT distance to our room...with VERY unclear directions. Hauling large luggage (no assistance available), we had to trek down a mile long hallway,. then take an elevator down--which led us to a dark basement--so we scrambled around for 10 minutes until we found a worker (no phones anywhere) who told us "revised" directions, when involved two more elevators and another long corridor, only to backtrack to our room once we got to our floor/wing which was somewhat disconnected. Then, they didn't tell us the internet in the room was cabled...and that they keep the cables at the front desk. So, long trek back to get cable, back to room....internet/cable doesn't work. And Maintenance is gone for the day. So, they gave us a key to another room....internet still doesn't work (so we gave up). Then it says pay per view movies....but really its DVDs the front desk has on hand (so, back to front desk to get a list of movie choices (which was a single piece of paper they could have photocopied and left in the rooms). Movies outdated so we opted for nothing. Patio furniture was old rusty metal. Dining menus very limited so we went to town to eat. Overall it was decent, but far less than it appears to be online.
