“Best Condo on Kauai - very impressed”
Condo was the most beautiful home I have ever stayed in. Expensive furniture and art, updated kitchen and bathrooms, most unbelievable view of the ocean. The staff was so helpful, it was my first time to Kauai. They helped me with everything, maps, directions, restaurants, beaches, activities and most important they pre-stocked my condo with my grocery list! After the office closes, there is a manager that lives on property and is available every evening and weekends. She even helped me late one night, after I locked myself out. The only complaint I have is that I didn't stay longer. Next time I won't split my vacation in Princeville, it will be all Poipu at Whalers Cove!
“a little pricey but the place is astounding”
this isn't the cheapest condo in the area, but it might be the most beautiful one around. extremely cozy and extremely elegant. we even felt bad that we didn't get to spend *more* time lounging at the condo because it was so comfortable there. the pool and hot tub are nice, the view is fabulous, and the rooms are just beautiful. you definitely won't regret staying at this place! only downside i can think of is that, though the ocean view is very nice, it isn't next to a sandy beach.
“Perfect home base for our Kauai trip with our 3 month old”
My husband and I decided to go back to Kauai at the end of my maternity leave for some family time before work began again. We decided to stay at Whalers Cove- booked a 1 bedroom ocean view and got a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath oceanview with a lanai, steps from the pool and hot tub with a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. The place was huge and it was the perfect layout/home base for us. We went to some of the larger chain hotels Poipu for drinks and the pool and beach was a total zoo! We were so happy to be at Whalers Cove and have the beautiful pool to ourselves most days! We originally got a room without much of a view and asked to move. The staff (and Charis-who was so nice) handled it no problem and showed us two units we could have instead. Baby's Beach down the block is great for little kids, and folks seem to come from far away to snorkel right by the place. The grounds and view are beautiful and we went to the larger hotels for drinks/dinner on the water most nights.
“A perfect romantic getaway”
Whaler's Cove was perfect for us - gorgeous ocean views, delightful pool and deck, and full kitchen. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the gorgeous lanai at our own pace, cooked in two evenings (wonderfully romantic!) We enjoyed sneaking down to the cove in the evenings to check on the sea turtles that hang out there. The entire South Shore is easily accessible, and the place is quiet and private.
“very nice location”
We stayed at this condo complex for four days on our first trip to Hawaii. The hotel is located in an excellent area and the apartment that we stayed in was very nice. We had originally requested an oceanview room and were upgraded to an oceanfront because many rooms were unbooked. We loved that apartment. From our room and our living room, we could hear the waves crashing into the rocks. That was one of first phrases my toddler learned in Hawaii. The only thing that we wished we had was a little more help from the hotel staff in terms of where to go and what to do. Usually, during daytime, there is one person who can help you, but she does many things so she is not willing to spend too much time on giving you vacation advice. Then, she leaves at 5pm and the office is closed on the weekends so there is no help. For a person who is familiar with the island, that should not be a problem, but we were quite green so we made a few bad choices and wasted a lot of time driving around.
“Very pretty location, with room and comfort.”
Whalers' Cove is a great location, beautiful grounds and ocean view. This is a great spot for families. Having a kitchen and 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms created great comfort, convienience and privacy. Lots of parking and nice quiet area. Our condo was very clean with newly renovated bathrooms. We did have one of two sinks that did not drain in the master bath, which was a pain the entire week- we survived it. We would go back!!
“Very private and beautiful”
Wonderful experience. Great staff. A lot of privacy and a wonderful condo. Views are fabulous. We were upgraded to ocean front and very pleased. It is "off the beaten track" which worked very well for us. The only negative was that the beds are hard but we did purchase and also were provided those "egg crates" to make the mattress softer, which helped a lot, but that was the only negative thing I can say. I'd go back there in a minute.
“Not impressed”
Poor maintanence of individual units. No housekeeping happens on Sundays - I think this is unacceptable. The staff are not receptive to suggestions, and are not accomodating. There is no business office, or computer that is available for internet use.
