“Super Fantastic!”
My wife and I stayed at this hotel in 1986, when it was a brand new Sheraton. It was excellent at that time. Now that it is St. Regis, it is even better. The facilities and staff are nothing short of AWESOME. It is expensive, for sure. In this case, you really do get what you pay for.
“Would stay again”
Very upscale, perhaps too much for a family in Hawaii, (which of course is usually quite casual). Thoroughly enjoyed the pool, beach, the views are absolutely stunning. Staff attentive, polite. Rooms nicely appointed. Only complaint is forced valet parking.
“Wonderfully relaxing spot in Kauai!”
We stayed @ the Princeville Hotel 10 years ago prior to it being purchased by the St. Regis, and the renovations are beautiful. We stayed in one of the St. Regis suites, and enjoyed the amazing views, the comfortable beds, and large bathroom. The only things which still seemed dated were the windows in the bathroom, the bathtub and sinks, which just seemed a little odd given the overall updated feel of the hotel. It was a little frustrating to find a simple solution for breakfast, since we did not always want to spend $40-$60 on a breakfast buffet. We would have loved just a simple breakfast solution. The pool area was wonderful, and I liked that there was not the pool chair competition every morning as in some of the larger hotels (such as the Westin in Maui - good grief). There was always plenty of chairs, and the pool and beach staff were very accommodating. Very relaxing!
“Great overall”
We rented a car so we ate at area restaurants to save some money. The whole staff (front desk, concierge, valet, room service, etc ) were all very nice and had your best interest in mind. The views and location were amazing!
“It doesn't get any better than this...”
Unbelievable! The hotel was amazing in every way and the staff was second to none. By far the best hotel experience I've had:)
“Seaside Palace”
As I usually end up choosing one of the bargains on Expedia, I don't normally stay in 5-star hotels but I'm so glad my friend recommended the St. Regis Princeville. 1. Best customer service experience of my life. Despite being in a sleepy little village where most everything closes by 10pm, the concierge found her late-night arrivals a delicious meal at a local wine bar. Imagine sun glinting off a magnificent beach-side pool... just when I started to feel a bit parched, an attendant stopped by with a small plate of frozen grapes. Every effort was made to ensure that we had a wonderful time. 2. Stunning postcard-worthy ocean views from the elegant lobby. Sipping Mai Tai from the bar terrace while the sun slowly set behind Makana mountain... priceless! 3. Luxurious emerald marble bathroom with an innovative electric tinted window and Internet radio in our mountain/garden view room. We were automatically upgraded to a 10th floor room with terrace. 4. As a network engineer, I appreciated that their business center workstations included privacy software to automatically wipe my personal info after I was done printing my boarding pass. 5. The gym included free weights... a small fridge with bottled water. Nice touch! One last thing... breakfast buffet at Makana Terrace. I recommend you visit the waffle bar and try the coconut syrup with whipped cream and fresh coconut slivers. Yum!
“Very Impressed”
The service and the comfort were outstanding.
“St. Regis is great!!!”
We very much enjoyed the hotel!!!!
“First Class Accomodations”
We were very pleased with the St. Regis and the quality of service and professionalism offered by the hotel. One thing to remember though, if looking for a romantic getaway like the St.Regis...don't book it during Spring Break. With so many families present, it was hard to really relax near the pool area and cocktail lounge. We were surprised that the parents included their children in the lounge; as many of the children were running around unsupervised.Although we love children, we would probably choose to book at a different time of year or find a property that was catered only to adults.
“Incredible location”
Simply put, there is no hotel on the island that is in such a perfect location with the most incredible view as the St. Regis. The interior rennovations are very nice and the staff service is very good. They are definitely trying hard to be 5 star. The amenities are great, pool is perfect, rooms are very nice. Our only complaint was on the food and beverage. The selection was poor if you're staying longer than just a few days and it was way too expensive for what it was. On my comment card with the hotel I wrote, "I'm fine if I have to pay $9 for a Bud Lite but at least serve it to me in a chilled glass not a plastic one." The food is not 5 star but be prepared to pay 5 star prices. (example, $45 for 2 salads) Other that that it was a very good experience.
