“great hotel not so good Lava waitstaff”

All of the hotel staff was friendly & helpful. The only beef we had was the waitstaff at Lava's... We ate there twice, the service the first time was great except it took forever to get the bill when we were done. They were not busy either.... it was after 9:30pm. The second time we went it was at 9pm again and the hostess told us to seat ourselves and we sat near the bar where the servers pick up drinks and we sat there for at least 10-15 minutes before anyone even spoke to us! The staff was all around us too! very disappointing.

“Beachgoers' Delight”

Friendly staff, wonderful location. Not so plastic or formal as to discourage coming back to your room a little sandy or drippy from its excellent sandy ocean beach. Hope to return.

“The Sheraton is a must!!”

This really was a pleasant surprise. The friendliness of the staff, the fabulous restaurant made our few ere a pleasure. I wish I had had longer there.

“Staying at the Kaloa Sheraton for my 50th b-day.”

Celebrating my 50th birthday my husband and I stayed in a full ocean view room. The bathroom had a roll in shower and bars by the toilet which helped my husband greatly! We enjoyed sitting by the beach and there were chairs with arms for my husband, who is unable to sit on lounge chairs. Eating at the Rum Fire restaurant was a wonderful experience. The Easter brunch was outstanding and the views of the ocean were absolutely beautiful! The staff went above and beyond to help us with my husband's disability. We will definitely stay here again!

“Kauai Paradise!”

This hotel was incredible! From the service at reception, to the beautiful beach vistas and the comfy beds - I couldn't fault the place. It was so incredibly beautiful here and I want to go back ASAP! The swaying palm trees, the crystal clean water and the white beaches all make for the best holiday ever! The Deluxe Ocean Front views are worth every penny and I would highly recommend paying the extra for the view. We were in Building One (away from all the hustle and bustle of the pool area) and it was incredible. We could even see turtles from our balcony! The buffet breakfast was superb! A special mention goes out to Ben the omelet man! The service around the pool was great, as were the bellhop services! The courtesy shuttle was one of the best features of this place! Randy from the bell desk even drove us to the wedding we were bridesmaids in! Stay here! You will not regret it!

“Poipus Best Stay for your $$$”

We loved this island and this hotel so much that we (my wife & I) went twice last year, 2004. The staff is very helpful & courteous; and the hotel-grounds are very well-kept with some of the most beautiful sunsets, which is a plus. Pool/Beach view rooms are the best; Poipu/Kiahuna beach is great for kids and adults alike--perfect for early morning strolls (sunrise) and/or late afternoon walks (sunsets). Breakfast buffet (incl. with fee) at the Shells is excellent, with great view of the beach also! This hotel & this island has become our second home! Mahalo, from San Jose, CA!!!

“Beautiful Oasis in Paradise”

This hotel was amazing! My husband flew to Kauai in the middle of a family vacation to Maui to getaway just the two of us for two days to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I felt like I was in heaven! The grounds are georgous, the staff was great, the rooms are very clean with very comfy beds and the food at the poolside grill (the only place we ate on-site) was delicious. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

“Great Spot, Great Service and Quality, Construction Did Not Affect At All”

Visited june4-11, 2011. Weather was great and I think this spot sees least rain on the entire island. This is the perfect spot on the island. Great snorkeling, best surfing and close to every where else. Resort has the greatest offers, service and people. We did not even feel the on-going construction. Rooms are clean. They have many great offers to the guests. Food may seem pricey, however it is worth for every penny and it's not so much different compared to other near by places. Great place for both families and other parties. Over all, I would definitely come back here for another vacation. Highly recommended.
