“Truly a magnificant Kauai experience - loved it and plan to go back to Pono Kai!”
As I mentioned above - Pono Kai will be my return destination. The walk, jog, bike PATH right next to the beach is fabulous. Pono Kai is clean and a very friendly staff. Their amenities were such an asset to this trip, i.e., clean bar-b-ques for cooking that steak, absolutely lovely fish pond for kids to feed fish, chickens and roosters were a kick to see and hear, enjoyed the lady who does the crafts faire there twice a week, pool and hot tub were clean - never too crowded when we were there. Location is the best - Safeway and Longs Drugs and ABC Store right there within walking distance. There's a variety of restaurants and shops to see. I can't wait to go back there.
“Nice stay for the money”
Before we left for our trip I saw some negative remarks. However, these remarks were not warranted in our case. We explored the island and the room accomodations and hotel grounds were great. The hotel has quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am too in case you are so concerned with overhead noises. We would go back to this spot again. You also have to remember that it is not a five star joint. Regardless we found it to be a great place for the money.
“great place to stay”
Spent 8 nights in E206, partial ocean view. Excellent price for condo. Very relaxing, only way to travel.
“Wonderful Honeymoon”
My wife and I stayed here and loved it. We had a beautiful ocean view and the room(s) were very clean. The only issue I had was that Expedia said I would get a ground floor room when in fact when we got to the resort we received a second floor room. This worked out for the better because the view was much better. Overall we had a great time.
“This is good place to stay.”
First off the 2 bdr. condo was very big, nice size lani, ocean view was great, rite on the beach. Now the grounds are very well maintained however the pool is a little small, big hot tub though. The staff all great people allways helpfull. I would stay here again.
“Will return”
The room was wonderful. It had a great view of the ocean. We would get up early every morning to watch the sunrise from the balcony. Great ocean breeze kept the room cool. We only ran the air conditioner once. Pool area was very nice, grounds well maintained. They even have an herb garden that the guest may harvest from. The roosters take some getting used to, but over all a great stay. We plan to return and stay in the same room.
“PONO KAI”
Well maintained, polite staff. Excellent location near cute town.
“Great Stay”
The hotel was great. Kitchen and oven made it easy to prepare your own meals and the location is great. Close to everything. Beach by the hotel is not safe to swim in but just a mile down on the walkway is a great beach.
“Great Location”
This hotel is less than five minutes to shopping or the beach. Well maintained with kitchen and living room and one bedroom. Loved the whole experience.
“Very pleased.”
Nice family oreinted accomodations. Quite time after 10PM helped insure a good night sleep before early morning hikes. Ocean views available though you have to walk a little to swim as the section by the resort was roped off (large rocks / swim hazard). Shopping and restraunts nearby.
