Property Amenities
The Kiahuna Plantation offers guests an opportunity to experience contemporary comfort amidst scenes of a 19th-century Hawaiian sugar plantation. Widely spaced on 33 acres of natural grounds and interspersed with gardens and lava-rock ponds, 42 white plantation-style buildings face Poipu Beach, which some have described as America's best. Access to upper floors is by outside stairs, not elevators.
Guests enjoy complimentary access to the Kiahuna Swim and Tennis Club, which is located on the north side of the hotel, just across Poipu Road. It features a lagoon-shaped pool with a shallow children's area, a jetted spa, and a waterslide. Other features include 10 tennis courts, a tennis shop, restaurant, and activity hut with towels, sunscreen, and cameras (extra fee). Barbecue areas, including one on an oceanside sunning lawn and coconut grove, are scattered around the grounds.
The front desk can arrange golf outings, helicopter sightseeing trips, luaus, and all other activities available on Kauai; the desk can also rent out video tapes and arrange massage sessions. A beach hut rents out snorkel sets and boogie boards, and provides complimentary towels and beach chairs.
Other hotel services include luggage storage and dry cleaning. Laundry facilities are on site. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas (surcharge). Rollaway beds and cribs (infant beds) are available upon request (surcharges apply). The hotel provides drop-off service to the airport on request (surcharge).”

Dining
Plantation Gardens Restaurant - Hailed as one of Hawaii's best, this spacious restaurant occupies much of the Kiahuna Plantation's original manor house. The manor was a 1930 wedding gift to Alexandra "Sandie" Knudsen and Hector Moir from her father, who inherited Hawaii's first (1835) sugar plantation from his parents. Walls display photographs chronicling plantation history. Under ceiling fans, dining is inside or on a wraparound veranda overlooking gardens and ponds. Wood floors and big wicker chairs evoke an earlier era and slower-paced atmosphere. The shaded bar has its own veranda. Diners are attracted by inventive, contemporary Hawaiian fare featuring local fish and other items.
Recreation
Kiahuna Plantation includes four tennis courts (two lighted). Kiahuna Golf Course is just a three-minute drive away, and the renowned Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course is 10 minutes away. On Kauai, recreational opportunities abound, including those listed below.

“Excellent stay, great location”
This hotel gets grear reviews on Expedia, but not always elsewhere. However, the room we booked was awesome - excellent service every day, clean, wonderful location and view, and helpful staff at the hotel. No hesitation in recommending if our experience was representative.
“Looking forward to going back”
Impressed by the beauty of the gardens even though it was early spring. The restaurant over looking the gardens and ponds were very relaxing while enjoying a excellant dinner and a mai tai. Our room was very relaxing with a beautiful view of the gardens and the ocean off of our lanai.
“A Wonderful Place to Stay on Kauai!”
We loved the Kiahuna Plantation! The room we had was beautifully appointed, was very clean, and comfortable. The staff took very good care of us. There is a very nice lawn area fronting the ocean and several gas barbeques available for use by hotel guests. The beach was very nice and the reef just to the east had some of the best snorkeling of all the places we went on the island. We would definitely stay there again.
“Can't wait to go back!”
The location is the best in Poipu. We've been to Kauai several times and we always return to the Kiahuna Plantation. It's relaxing, beautiful and on a fun beach. Irene
“Clean, clean, clean!”
We decided to stay here based upon a suggestion from my sister and the high reviews online. Our condo was very nice, and very clean. My wife is picky about room cleanliness and was very satisfied. The daily room service was virtually transparent. Everyday we would leave to do something and by the time we came back our room had been cleaned. All the resort staff we interacted with were very nice! The beach here is wonderful too. If you can, a top floor "garden view" room does have a partial view of the ocean. Oh, don't let the geckos bother you, they are actually a good thing!
“Perfect location in Poipu-”
We went to Kauia to attend a wedding & most of the 10 other guest were staying at a nearby resort. After joining us at our Kiahuna condo for some pu-pu's & cocktails one afternoon, everyone commented on our beautiufl ocean view & rolling green lawn. They were jealous & envious of our home for a week. We saved $$ cooking in & enjoyed our patio at night the grounds were peaceful. The staff was curtious & helpful for all our request. We had a late flight out & they let us use a hospitality room to shower & get ready for our flight so we did not miss out spending our last day on the beach. I will definatley go back & bring friends. Kauai is the best place to unwind & enjoy the island flavor. Don't mind the birds, they are there to wake you up so you will get up & out & enjoy the beauty of the beaches.
“This was our second stay at The Kiahuna Plantation. We hope to return soon!”
Having stayed at this resort in 1996, it was great returning to the island and this resort. The grounds were outstanding and the staff very friendly and helpful. It is an outstanding place to stay. Our ocean view room was nicely decorated, and very clean. The tile throughout was very nice and the lanai a wonderful place to have coffee in the mornings and a glass of wine in the evenings. We hope to return sooner than another 12 years.
“This was our second stay.”
We'll be back! The staff are wonderful! Everything we needed was there. We absolutely love it!
“Great Anniversary Get Away!”
The room was even better than we expected from looking at the virtual tour. The dining facility was first class, the grounds were extraordinary, georgous, & in full bloom. A great anniversay trip!
“Beautiful place to stay!”
The accomodations were excellent. The best parts of Kiahuna Plantation are the fabulous gardens and amazing landscaping. The fact that it's a hop and a skip to the beach makes it even better.
