“You need to experience this resort”
The staff was more than friendly & helpful. They will go out of their way to make sure you & yours have everything you need or want. This goes from the bell captains to the waitresses in the Red Salt restaurant to the cleaning staff to the front desk, just everyone showed a genuine concern for one's happiness while staying here. Nice quiet environment to relax in and get away from the hustle & busy environment of commercial hotels.

“Belated Honeymoon”
Amazing. My husband and I loved this hotel.Despite being on Poipu Beach with many large resort hotels nearby, it felt private with easy access to the beach. Pool area overlooked the ocean where we were able to whale watch while sipping on tropical drinks from the poolside bar.
“Perfect 10th wedding anniversary!!!!!!”
We loved our room and bath-classic contemporary...the bed was soooo comfortable and we were able to easily control the temperature in our room. The beach (which had awesome sand) was so close to our room there was no need to "pack and haul" our stuff...if we needed anything it was a 5 minute max walk up to the room. The pool and lunch/bar were just as conveniently close to the rooms. I believe there were only 2 levels of rooms-fewer rooms made for fewer guests which was great--no crowds, no waiting, etc. (pool temp was perfect!) The hotel restaurant "Red Sand" was superb. There were 2 shopping "villages" nearby that had lots of good restaurants. I'd say the hotel is definitely more geared to couples, ages 30-75. Almost forgot, really good snorkelling @ 15' out from the sand there is a coral reef. Equipment is cheap-very worthwhile to do.
“Fabulous”
We were thrilled with this hotel - the reviews were helpful and we made a great choice. The staff was attentive, subtle and professional. After talking with other folks we think this is the best hotel in the southern part of the island and maybe the whole island. Grab some drinks and snacks for your room, eat at Red Salt, enjoy the pool and beach location and take surf lessons from Chris. The hotel is not huge and this is a major plus. You are never more than 2 minutes from your room, the gym is well equipped and good light. I had a great massage with James. Easy walk to two little shopping areas and restaurants. Overall a fabulous place.
“Can't wait to go back!!”
We stayed at this resort for 8 nights and it was amazing. Everyone made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived.. We were given a tour of the resort and our room! By the second day they were calling us by name.. They gave us great advise on places to see and things to do. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Kauai! We would highly recommend this resort as a fabulous place to stay.
“Loved it!”
We stayed at the Koa Kea for our wedding and honeymoon recently and absolutely loved it! The staff was wonderful, the room was clean and the beds were so comfortable. Loved the intimate feel of the hotel and that it was so close to the beach, stores and restaurants. Enjoyed the restaurant, especially for breakfast and the eggs benedict. Dinners were a little pricey ($36 for 3 scallops without a side dish) but that would be our only complaint. The staff was so helpful and they even sent a 1/2 bottle of French Champagne for our wedding night. We would definitely stay here again.
“Great small hotel”
The Koa Kea is a very nice small hotel in a great location. Service level and staff are incredible. There are limited (2) food options at the hotel, but the food is good, esp. breakfast. If you are looking for a low key, quiet, comfortable place for a special event or getaway, this is a good choice. It's right on the beach and has great sunset views. If you want a big resort experience with tons of food and drink options, this is probably not a good option.
“Great Memories From Staying HERE”
Would highly recommend this to any couple whose budget permits. It was a memorable and wonderful experience. All the people from valet to check-in to housekeeping to chef Chris were first-class!
