“Nice Place to visit”
The hotel has a good location at the beach withsome shops and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was excellent. The reception was helpful and co-operative.
“Decent one!”
Decent one to stay, have a nice beach and pool. Hotel staff is very courteous and accommodating. can probably include some more vegetarian options on their menu. 20 mins away from the Lihue airport and is on route 56 which make it more convenient for driving to West/North and the Southern coast. It is probably few minutes away from the shopping complexes and near-by restaurants.
“Not a typical Marriott experiance”
Upgraded our room to ocean view and glad I did it. Construction was ongoing but it did not bother us. There is something odd about the property and did not deliver a typical marriott experience. Breakfast buffet was unbelievably expensive. Great location of course. And the property do collect $14/night for parking which is to me a steal!
“Marriott Courtyard right on the Beach and Great Location”
Great location - almost equidistant to north shore and west shore spots. Obviously, less pricey than the major resorts. Great room, well priced, good location right on the beach and close to the local scene in Kapaa
“Nice staff, but lots of construction going on”
Staff was nice and friendly. The first morning there was a beeping from the pool room for 2 hours that at first we thought was someone's alarm, but when we finally called about it, it got taken care of. Pool, grounds, and beach were clean. Construction was noisy when in the room, so we always went out to the beaches until 5:00 p.m. Hotel greeters were always friendly, the balcony's are really small, but I don't know if that can be changed.
“Perfect!”
Very good quality/price
“$14 parking fee for an empty parking lot? Really?”
We're not the type of travelers who like the extra 'resort fee' tacked on. In this case, it's the parking fee that was tacked on. Really? Is that necessary? Plus, the hotel is being renovated. That is of course, not a big deal. Because the hotel really needs it. The rooms are tiny with terrible 'ocean view' rooms that have louvered inserts in the windows that block airflow and the view you pay extra for. The air conditioner drowns out any ocean sounds you may want to hear. However, the hotel employees are very nice and attentive. We would not recommend this place. There is much better value out there for your time and precious dollars. Here's my husband take on the hotel; Yes, the industrial sized air conditioning unit could have been installed in Wal-mart, and still would have been annoyingly loud. To get a peek at the premium-priced ocean view, one would have to step out onto the bathmat-sized lanai, lean out over the rail and squint between the other buildings. It would have been nice to know beforehand that the entire entrance to the hotel was going to be in shambles during major renovations. As you try to enjoy a drink in the harsh fluorescent-lit bar, a steady stream of wet kids and parents carrying all their beach gear pass directly through the middle of your privacy... along with luggage-toting guests checking in and out of the hotel. So that's about it. Welcome to Kauai! Good luck with the renovation.
“When construction is finished it will be a good place to stay”
We stayed one night at the Courtyard and didn't realize that the whole front area of the hotel was under major renovation. We were glad we were just spending one night. The hotel is right on the water with many of the rooms having at least a partial ocean view. The actual outside "courtyard" where the swimming pool is caused me to consider returning as it was the highlight of the hotel. The food from the outside pool restaurant was good and the service was fine. The actual restaurant was being remodeled, but we wanted casual and ocean view with our meal so it worked out well. The area around the hotel has lots of traffic, but with that comes many places to eat and shop.
“Great Place to Stay”
I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Everyone was pleasant and ready to serve. Even though there was remodeling going on my stay was very enjoyable and I would stay there again.
“Good hotel”
Decent hotel in a pretty area. Entertainment was pretty lame... Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool was ice cold...Noisy construction going on while we were there.
