friendly staff who went out of their way to correct an error made during payment during checkout. The breakfast was good & the person made and excellent cappuccino in the morning. Super convenient to thamel & would definitely stay here again.

Great Value, Location and People
This is a great hotel nestled in a great location attached to the famous Thamel Market. Just a few minutes walk from the Kathmandu Durbar Square and walkable from many great pubs and nightlife, this hotel is a seriously great value for money. The absolute highlight of this place is IT'S AWESOME PEOPLE! super friendly and courteous staff are always ready to help you with a smile. Their restaurant has very tasty food, and I used the Hotel's very reasonable tour package to check out the great places around Kathmandu Valley and my driver was sweet and helpful. All in all, folks from Norbulinka made my Nepal visit truly memorable. Special shoutouts to Mr.Santosh & Mr.Kiran , Mr.Ganesh, Mr.Rabin

The people working here are very friendly and very accommodating to English only speakers. This place is pretty fancy for Nepal, i didnt realize that until I stayed, but it was a nice couple of days and the staff were very kind

Unfortunately very poor value. Definitely not a ‘boutique’ hotel! Hotel and room were dilapidated and generally unclean. Room smelt of faintly of cigarette smoke. Noisy concrete corridors outside the room with loud conversations and slamming doors late at night AND early in the morning. Weak tepid shower and brown water stains on bathroom floor. Room service only once during a 4 night stay. Hotel staff, although nice people, are generally disorganised and quite unprofessional. Another hotel only a few blocks away is only $10 more per night and actually very pleasant to stay at. I did not once want to spend any time at Norbulinka because it was so generally unpleasant to be there. This hotel would be okay if it was 1/2 the price being charged. Disappointing, especially considering this is not a cheap place to stay. Go elsewhere would be my advice.

But we would like you to note that you had booked Deluxe Single with us and we upgraded your room to Superior Queen as a complimentary service. Also, please be noted that it was a festival season during your stay and most of our staff were on leave, we were operating on a few staff members and there might have been some inconvenience from our end due to the same. And the room service is only provided if you have informed the reception or if you have kept the room service door hanger outside your door.And you had not mentioned anything about the inconvenience caused when we talked. If you had informed me, we would have changed the rooms immediately, I even asked you how the stay was and you were positive about it.We were also very surprised to hear that your stay with us was not comfortable. And we are really sorry for the inconvenience caused. We look forward to providing you with better service and facilitating you again in the coming days.

The staff were very friendly, courteous and professional. They went out of their way to assist me. The Manager Rabin was very kind man that runs a top shelf organization. I'm very happy and grateful with my stay. Thank you for going above and beyond in making it a memorable stay.

Don't believe the pictures nor the reviews! Although the staff means well but the property is old and falling apart there was minimum hygiene precautions and things are left uncleaned. Not recommended until the owners invest in renovating the place. Ps. Most of the good reviews date back to 2014/2015 - so don't trust what the hotel is showing you as content as it's not updated. We had to cancel after our first night. Expedia talked to the hotel and we got refunded for the remaining nights (so that's the only plus).

4 nights in Kathmandu
This hotel is in a great location. They also stay true to the Nepalese hospitality standards. The airport pick up and free breakfast are nice touches that make sure they provide great service. We stayed there for 4 nights and on two of the nights, it was very noisy in the lobby. We stayed on the first floor so we heard everything from our room at 11pm and 3am the other night. I’d recommend staying on a higher floor to avoid hearing the noises from the lobby late at night.

The Norbulinka is a well-kept, newish (or newly renovated) hotel in the heart of the Thamel district. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable and the common area on the ground floor is open, spacious, and well-appointed. The staff are all warm and welcoming. The offer to pick arriving guests up at the airport is brilliant because the hotel is a little hard to find. Lastly, the breakfast is terrific. We had a great stay at the Norbulinka and will return soon.

Even though it is located at the most busy turistic area of Kathmandu, it was very quiet. We had a wonderful night sleep. All the facility is super clean and the staff is friendly and very helpful. We just love it.

Staff are very accommodating and go out of their way to help. Instead of arranging for me to get a taxi to the bus park, they arranged one of their staff to take me in their van. Above and beyond!

Perfect hotel for thamel area
The hotel was great and we’ve stayed here multiple times without disappointment. Food, room, shower, staff and location all really good. We even left our luggage here for two weeks while trekking with no problem

Great hotel in great location
The hotel has great rooms, staff and is in a fantastic location. The food at breakfast and meals were great too. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Kathmandu.

Fantastic hotel with super staff
The Norbulinka is a great place to stay in Kathmandu. The location is perfect, the rooms are great, the breakfast is good and the staff are soooo friendly and helpful. We wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else if we go back to Kathmandu.

Short stay, however rooms were clean, well appointed (albiet basic). Good location to nearby attractions and popularly known by taxi drivers. All of the basic creature comforts you would expect from a Nepalese hotel. Helpful concierge.
