“Value for money bed and breakfast”

This bar/restaurant with rooms is located at the junction of two main roads 10 minutes walk away from the town centre. However the walk is easy and the hotel quiet at night (no traffic noise in the rooms). The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking space for cars and a covered store for bicycles. Our room was one of 7 in a separate building across the car park (motel style). The room was very small (nowhere to sit to read or watch the tiny television) and in urgent need of refurbishment - especially the bathroom which probably hadn't been updated for more than 30 years! There are other rooms attached to the main building which appear to have been added more recently. These rooms are featured in the picture of the hotel bedrooms and are clearly more spacious and modern. Whatever, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast excellent - well stocked with a very good choice. The hotel is recommended for anyone visiting the attractive town of Kappeln and prepared to walk 10-15 minutes to the town centre and harbour. Good choice of restaurants in the town (we didn't eat at the hotel but the food looked OK). Overall it represented very good value (we paid less than 70 Euro each night for double room and breakfast) but our stay would have been better in one of the "new" rooms.
