"Figured I might as well do a quick review for anyone considering booking. We were in Akumal in a swim up suite with an almost 2 year old for 8 nights. Overall I loved this resort and will likely be back! Most the day we spent at Tulum in the splash pad pool or Coba at the water park. My daughter LOVED this! She’s small but fearless and I was thrilled nobody blew a whistle seeing my toddler go down the slides she did. Wouldn’t be the case back home for sure. Made our trip! We loved our room and had great service everywhere. Our swim up pool was amazing and clean. We stayed in villa 59 in an end room and had quite a bit of privacy without being too far from anywhere. Man did we get our use out that pool for nap times and evening or morning swims. Highly recommend for anyone with kids. We’ve stayed at many AI resorts in Mexico and Caribbean… in comparison I thought Bahia was Above average: child friendly environment even during late night hours if you’re like me and have drinks and still have fun with your kids, day and night entertainment (though the DJ could play longer at the resort and not the hacienda), food at Ku uk and Dolce Vita, rooms, beach Same: buffet nothing too special but had variety, pools were clean with lots of ledges and platforms that my daughter liked- maybe just more swim up bars would be nice. Below average: our room was great but the fact that motion sensors turn off AC, fan, and power to outlets that were charging my devices when not in the room"

"We really enjoyed the layout of the property and how well kept it was. The nature aspect with all the palm trees and plants along the paths and gathering areas gave you that nature feeling. All the staff were very polite, professional, and eager to help if you needed anything."

"Wyndham has been busy in restoring the beach area as when we were there 2 years ago, the beach just outside the boundary of the main pool was non-existent. There are now loungers in the area where water used to be. Same with the ground level suites that face the ocean - you might not be access the beach still but at least water is not lapping at the balcony door. The hotel has implemented a rule regarding placing the hotel towels and personal items to reserve loungers by the main pool and pool by Off the Hook; unfortunately, occasionally staff will remove the items after an hour. It is sad that some patrons do not like to follow the rule as everyone should have opportunity to relax by the pool. Jorge, pool and bar manager informed me that towel/reservations is a work in progress. The Wyndham front line staff including management are welcoming (Alexandro) and are willing to help out with reasonable requests. The food at the resort are superb. The buffet have variety so one never gets bored of having the same food though I can never get enough of taco chips/salsa/habanero. Thanks to Eduardo and Hector for introducing me to the lovely hot sauces. Sebastian, thank you for remembering my pot of decaf coffee with hot leche (milk) in the morning. Suggestions: please reinstate small bills for exchanging for large bills and bring back my popcorn. "
