“Nice hotel, needs better staff at the front desk.”

Overall it was okay. The front desk staff was very unprofessional. However, the bar staff was very friendly.

“Nice hotel with lots of shopping and restaurants”

Good location...trendy hotel with a very nice fitness area. Free parking can't be beat either.

“Nice reasonably priced hotel”

If you are looking to stay in suburbia (South Overland Park --not my favorite part of the KC area -- the County Club Plaza area is much better and is more urban) this is a fine hotel for the price. It is modern in design, which makes it a little cheap looking in some respects (kind of like a fancy dorm room), but it is stylish, clean, comfortable, with nice beds. Staff is nice, rooms have really nice walk-in shower (though I am not crazy about the sink outside of the toilet/shower area). Good TV, and the area, while suburban, has a really nice restaurant next door (did not try the restaurant in the hotel itself, a sort of sushi place I think). I stayed there a couple of times before and there was a lot of partying in the hotel bar area but I was never bothered by noise in the room. The pool is great -- long and clean and you can swim real laps. Gym is adequate, too. For the price, I like this hotel.

“Aloft Leawood - Overland Park”

It was one of the nicest hotels I've been to before. The only downside was that the breakfast grab'n'go was very overpriced and the hot food was like something you would get at QuikTrip. Apart from that the hotel was great and had a lot to do around it in terms of shopping, restaurants and bars.

“Probably won't go back”

Very modern hotel but the room was small. Great shower and a very nice TV! There was hardly anywhere you could put your clothes, the iron didn't work and the shades were tough to open and close. If you are looking for a room with space to move around, this isn't it. The bed was comfortable but only had two pillows. If you are just looking for a place to put your head and a great neighborhood then this is the spot for you. I was just expecting it to be more comfortable then what it was.

“Small rooms”

Nice. Clean. Uncomfortable furniture and no drinking glasses or coffee mugs in rooms.

“modern/location vs cozy”

Very different - I was there for a holiday weekend with relatives. It served it's purpose as a place to sleep and bathe. Firm beds and pillows and bed and clean. The rates were reasonable. As a single woman , I did not like the fact that the entrance was unattended except for a valet parking person who was very nice. The registration desk is on the second floor - the entrance would seem to be admissable to anyone. We stayed on the 3rd floor. In other words - it looked like anyone could walk in off the street and go to the 3rd floor without seeing anyone. The parking was on the 3rd floor of a garage that was between 2 buildings - it seemed very safe - as a single woman - I was not comfortable using the elevator in the garage and walking back to the hotel entrance. This is a very modern hotel - not cozy - no breakfast - expensive snacks- good location.

“not a hotel i would recommend to my friends.”

1. The front desk is at 2nd fl. no sign to direct when you walk in. got to ask. 2. The front desk was friendly, but not professional. sometimes just 1 person, long wait time. 3. room is very oddly designed. modern yes, comfort no. (more like a budget motel) 4. great steak house next door: chopedhouse never will stay again.

“Save your money...Go somewhere else!”

My wife and I wanted a getaway weekend and chose Aloft because of its slick advertising and modern decor. Result: For the higher priced rates they charge, we had a ridiculously hard bed in a room far too small with thin walls and airconditioner system that sounds like a small freight train (nothing wrong with the unit just too small of a room so motor vibration was deafening and had to be on nearly full time) Nice 42' HDTV but couldn't hear it over the AC. NO complementary breakfast items except coffee, but very high priced baggies of broken packages of pastries, etc and convenience store- style wrapped breakfast sandwiches for $5.00 each! Kansas City is full of great hotels with far better overall guest comfort and service.
