quality and affordability, good breakfast

Posted 21-Apr-2014
it was very quiet, the location was farther from the city than anticipated but the affordability was right on spot. The breakfast was just right for the price. the room was very nice. the only thing I would recommend is my bed was a bit worn and lope sided, I woke up with a sore back , then I switched sides on my bed and felt fine my second day. so I would recommend upgrading the mattress.

Pros: Close to highway.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Good location for highway. No restaurants close by, just fast food outlets.
Motel was close to highway. Room was clean and up-dated. Breakfast was usual continental. Staff friendly.

Works for me.

The room was a little small for having 4 adults in it and the bathroom was very cramped when trying to close the door but other than that it was clean and tidy. I liked being around the back and able to sit outside in the quiet.

Very Disappointed

Pros: nothing
I expected better of a super 8 motel. Motel was very substandard considering the price point. We did not feel confident of cleanliness. The room was very small and tight. Parking was terrible.

Room 132 condition

Posted 14-Aug-2013
Pros: Nothing favorite.
Cons: See comments above
Location: Kamloops bc
Washroom door did not close fully. It would jam. Shower head is very low. The shower drain drains very slowly. The air conditioner is very loud. The room smelled musky. Needed to charge up our cell phone and ipad, no available electrical outlet. Bed sheets were not very clean - appeared to have some blood spots on certain area. One face cloth appeared to be clean but had a color stain on it and one was dirty. One light over the sink kept flickering off and on when switch was in the on position.

One of the worst I've stayed in

Posted 13-Aug-2013
Pros: The nice big pictures on the wall above the beds.
Cons: A/C pointed directly at bed, and pretty much everything else.
Location: Convenient location, visible from Trans Canada Hwy just East of downtown Kamloops
One of the smallest hotel rooms I've stayed in for the price. I usually go for the least expensive room I can find, this one was a little pricier, at about $100/night. The room had A/C, however it was placed less than a foot from one of the beds at the same height as the bed. It was hot in the room but FREEZING in the bed, even after piling what little luggage I had on the bed directly in front of the A/C unit (which was also very loud, even when you weren't lying 2 feet from it). In addition there was a lot of other noises. The neighbours sink and shower sounded like a jackhammer, the highway traffic noise was not muted at all by the thin windows or door (had a good sized gap around it). The face plate of the washroom light switch did not cover the entire hole cut for the switch (not that uncommon). The washroom was just a toilet and shower, and barely enough room for that. The shower head didn't swivel, and was a few centimeters from center towards the wall which made it very awkward. The breakfast was a little below average in my experience but not horrible. Could be bearable with new windows, a wall mounted A/C (that blows the cold air up) instead of the window mounted units, a little effort from the owner, and a little more cleaning. I stay in motels/hotels about 10-20 times a year usually on the way to camping, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, etc. I don't need any luxury, just a bed, sink, toilet and shower. A/C or a fan is a must in hot locations too.

The room is very small. the air condition sounded like some machine working. we had to shut down the air condition, and open the door to keep the room cool.

Good Enough for One Night

Posted 9-Aug-2013
Pros: Staff were very friendly
Cons: Would have been nice to have some fruit options for breakfast
Location: Location was good - right on TransCanada Highway
Staff were very friendly and tried to accommodate as best they could. Rooms were clean, breakfast was adequate. Would only stay here for one night if passing through town. Would not recommend staying any longer.
