“Very warm and inviting”
We were very impressed with this small hotel. The rooms were very clean,luxurious and detail oriented. The staff were all very nice and the food was excellent.
“Recommend with reservations.”
We were surprised that the Inn wasn't in Kamloops, particularly since we drove into the city only to find that we had passed by it a half-hour earlier and had to drive back. We were also surprised to find that it had this "Kentucky horse-farm" design theme. It was, however, quite comfortable The dining room was "undersubscribed" (as there was only one other couple, and we were attended by two "part-time" waitresses - they were also working in the main dining room and bar). There were horses, lamas, and alpacas in the various stable areas along the entry roadway to greet us.
“Very pleased”
The hotel was even better than expected. People at the reception desk were so ready to go the extra mile to help you. My first time in a "Pet Friendly" hotel and certainly not the last now that I have seen how it works.
“Off the beaten track in Kamloops”
Wonderful spot for one night or a few days. Good food, terriffic grounds and quiet. spacious rooms quiet balcony and great restaurant. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Will go back again
“would return”
we stayed 2 nights very nice place grounds were kept up food was good, only problem was we paid extra to up grade,no large plasma tv as said in up grade and a/c hardly worked,so i did not have a good sleep was hot and stuffy in the room, at 4.00 am i was holding the door open to the hallway where the a/c was pumping out nice cold air,but none in ower room.other wise the place was great.
“Soundproofing”
I found the soundproofing of the hotel to be less than desired. I could hear guests across the hall talking in their room with the door closed.
“Will book a Tee-time in advance”
Had to call for directions, not hard to find once you know where you are going. Nice quiet location, great food friendly staff. Located just off the river - great view from the balcony. Didn't realize there were horses and a golf course, will absolutely book a tee-time next visit.
“Off the beaten track”
Nice quaint hotel. Well off the beaten track. More designed for events and conferences. The rooms could do with a little updating.
“One of Kamloops nicest Hotels!!”
We really enjoyed our stay, the htoel was very nice and the staff were very friendly. We would definetly go back there if we are traveling through Kamloops again.
“Wilderness hotel”
The South Thompsen Inn is a beautiful hotel but the problem was finding the hotel without a GPS in my rental car. The basic Kamloops map given at the airport is almost completely useless in trying to find this very out of the way location. Canadian streets, highways, exits are only navigable by locals and those with pinpoint GPS units. The very nice clerk printed out on Google maps the way back to the airport and even those directions were completely misleading. In Kamloops, roads change names without any apparent reason and signs directing you to the highways are few and far between. This hotel is 20 minutes away from downtown Kamloops.
