At least remove the train art in the rooms!
They litterally built a beautiful hotel on one of the busiest freight train hub in BC. Do not expect to sleep well if your room is on the train side (1/2 the hotel is). We were not happy with front desk which 1 degraded us to a non suite room on the good side without explaining and 2. Gave us a suite on the train side without telling us it would not be great. Very sad because the suite was nice. Except the pictures of trains which were like a terrible reminder of a bad night sleep...

I was in Kamloops to visit a sick relative in hospital and just asked the staff for directions . When I came back from a very difficult visit I discovered they upgraded my room. Very kind.

We were pre warned about the noise from the trains behind the hotel….and could live with that. The room darkening blinds were terrible, not properly installed. The hotel put a strip of Velcro to hold up the blind so you could not lift them up! Permanent room darkening except for the bottom foot of the window with no blind. The blind was too short…..felt like a cheap hotel.

the hotel was by the railroad junction terminal. The rooms having the city view were exposed to the trains rumbling by at all times of the day and night. To mitigate the noise, management provides 1. earplugs, 2. white noise generators. if you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. My buddy had the room on the 6th floor and he said he could feel the vibrations when the trains were passing by.

Didn’t realize when I booked it that it wasn’t just off the highway. That’s my error for not checking location on a map. The underground parking is where they make you park, but it’s open access to anyone and unmonitored and plenty of reviews and even signs on the underground lot mention not to leave anything in the car. I didn’t feel safe leaving my car there but there was no other choice. Got locked out of my room, the keycard would make the noise that the door was unlocked, but then the door would not open. Went down to front desk and got keycards re-keyed. Back to the fourth floor to my door, and keycards still did not work. It made the sound, but door didn’t budge. Went back down to front desk. They accused me of closing the latch (how can you do that from the outside? - just how would I have done that!????). They said maintenance would meet me at the door. All maintenance did was jiggle the door know and say “sometimes you gotta use force and jiggle the knob upwards, that’s all”. Made me feel like I was a huge inconvenience for not using body force to push door open and having the savy-ness to jiggle the doorknob upwards and not downwards like what is normal. Okay, if that’s so obvious and All staff knows this, why don’t you inform the guests when they say the keycards don’t work? While the hotel was great, and I highly recommend other signature locations, I would never say at this specific location again.

City view rooms overlook railway. Very noisy which is not mentioned on their website. Trains can run all night. Given this hotel is not a cheap option it should be mentioned ahead of time. Providing a whit noise machine and ear plugs is not a solution especially for light sleepers. Rooms were comfortable but fittings and furniture showed their age. common areas were not well cleaned. Convenient location.

The front desk staff that checked us in was not friendly or patience. The pool and hot tub were very dirty and never cleaned the whole time we were there and there was never any towels. There is a train out front and got stuck every time which was very inconvenient for getting to sporting events. We would r stay there again.

I am sorry to have to leave a bad review because the staff were friendly, however, our room on the 5th floor was directly over the trains that ran the entire night. We booked for 2 nights and were not able to sleep. Given the location, noise-cancelling headphones should be provided for these rooms. Also, our white comforter on the bed was blood-stained and brown (dirty neck sweat?) around the edge where one would tuck in. Last, as a matter of preference, I found the lighting too dim, especially in the bathroom trying to get ready for the event that brought us to Kamloops.

The property should mention that its next to the railway tracks and frequency of trains is every 1 hr. It’s so inconvenient. i would have preferred a lake view instead of city view which is less than 50 meters from railway tracks.

The hotel and facilities are great. The only slight issue is the proximity of the train line which is quite noisy. The Shark Bar, part of the hotel complex was good, both in terms of service and food. I would certainly stay here again.
