“Average hotel, business-orientated”
Past car dealerships, by an industrial estate, lies this hotel. It has a lot of business guests, car park outside is free and well illuminated, else there's the underground carpark (at a cost). Large reception with friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant - do beware of opening times especially at weekend. Double bed in my room was comfy but with two single-bed duvets. TV was large widescreen, but low resolution/not sharpest display, on-demand movies weren't greatest quality but pretty recent, in a range of languages and genres. Had a lovely view of other rooms behind the blinds and curtains. Thick curtains I might add - stopped sunlight getting in, so I had a good sleep in. Breakfast in restaurant was ok, standard buffet fare. Nearby there is an Ikea, Lidl, McDonalds, petrol station within short walking distance. More shops a little further. I wouldn't stay here for a holiday or break. Good autobahn links though, Dusseldorf city/airport around 15minutes away by car/taxi. There is a train station nearby, but I didn't use it. Evening meal was good, with a good selection of tastes.

tarif correct mais tout extra est compté pas de journal a disposition liaison internet nulle , proche du racket au niveau du tarif ,de plus impossible d'interrompre une séssion achetée, une fois initiée elle se deroule jusqu'au bout. agrément de la piscine ( petite mais agréable ) en sous sol restaurant impersonnel mais de qualité chambre agréable mais odeur entetante obligeant a dormir la fenêtre ouverte
“Better than expected!”
I booked a "standard economy room" for both myself and my colleague and we found them be much larger than expected given the price, almost as if we'd been upgraded without knowing on both rooms. The room itself was very nice, bathroom did look a little "tired" in places but was clean a pleasant none-the-less. I stayed on the 1st floor and found the noise from the bar just below to be at a higher level than ideal but my colleague on the 3rd floor heard nothing. In the morning I found one corridor, near the lifts, had a fair amount of what I can only describe of "pebbles" that looked like they had been spilt on the floor - a trip/slip hazard if ever I saw one! However, I'm sure this was a one-off and was no doubt cleaned up so I would generally give this hotel a good rating and recommend it to others staying near Dusseldorf. Hotel staff were very friendly and breakfast excellent. Expect to pay handsomely for a taxi from Dusseldorf's main airport late at night though, which is 15 - 20 mins by car away.

“Its OK”
This is not really a hotel to stay in if you do not have a car. Although it is near a railway station. It is situated at the end of an industrial park, and the center of Kaarst is about a 15 minute walk. The hotel staff were helpful and the place was clean, but it was a shame that we were not informed when we booked that the kitchen was closed over the most of the days we stayed.

one of the 3 rooms was a smokers room and the the hotle refused to amend this. So we ended up in staying in 2 rooms rather than 3 for the first day.
“Health concern”
Pros: The hotel property itself is in good condition with an attractive interior decor befitting a mid-range property such as a Residence Inn. The staff was extremely gracious and accommodating. Also, the breakfast buffet offered a wide assortment of selections, both hot and cold (e.g., eggs, sausages, potatoes, fruits, cerals, pastries, etc.). Cons: Only a portion of the hotel rooms have been remodeled as of April 2010 and the hotel property is difficult to find after exiting the highway. However, my overriding concern was the high volume (over 30 separate lines) of high voltage power lines adjacent to the hotel property. Most folks would probably not even notice the power lines, but as someone with a pacemaker - the strength of the EMF transmissions was off the charts. The hotel staff generously arranged to move my family into another property to accommodate our health concerns.
“the worst hotel experience of my life”
I was ripped off in the taxi on the way and the hotel staff did nothing to help me. My room smelled like somebody had died in there and they did nothing about it and sniggered at me behind the desk. The smell was so bad I couldn't sleep. I asked to switch rooms but they said they were full - which I knew they weren't as my business associate had cancelled at the last minute. They said they would clean the room thorougly but all they did was open the window, which did nothing to alter the smell. Eventually they switched my room but only after alot of complaining on my part and alot of sniggering behing the desk on theirs. The pool was about twice the size of my bath at home and they made no effort to give helpful directions to the train station so I got really lost.
