"Nice suburb surroundings!!"
Room is very great, and so is the bathroom...the outdoors restaurant was a truly great experince with the barbacoa (BBQ) and good wine. This hotel is closest to the airport as well, just about 5 minutes!

"Perfect Location Great Staff"
The setting on the edge of the historic centre on a small square is perfect for exploring or relaxing. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our stay with advice on what to do, useful bookings and great general service. We had one of the large junior suites overlooking the square which we loved but it could be noisy for some as there are a range of small tapas bars that occupy the plaza. If driving check in advance on how to access the parking as there is a restricted access zone you may have to negotiate to reach the hotel parking.

"Stunning stay! "
We could not have hoped for better and would definitely stay at Casa Grande again. Monique's hospitality was second to none and the hotel is within easy walking distance to all the sights. It is worth paying extra for the breakfast. Bodegas Tradicion was an excellent recommendation of her's - small, friendly, non commercialised and the added bonus of a great art collection. La Carbona is a 'must' for its sherry pairing menu and Jerez has numerous tavernas and bars. Cadiz was a great day trip. Monique is a font of information!

"Traditional Andalusian style"
Really charmed by the look of this place - traditional old Andalusian building with apartments around the central courtyard, which is a mass of green plants. I loved the old stone steps and the landings, the ancient wooden doors. The communal spaces are delightful. The apartment itself is not strong on design! It's a real mismatch of odd furniture and fittings, but that said, it has everything one needs and it was spotlessly clean. The apartments are in an old part of town, a few minutes walk from the centre and easy to walk to from the station too. Right outside our window was a dramatic statue of flamenco artiste Lola Flores, in front of an old palacio and two hundred-year old olive trees. The staff who greeted us were charming and helpful. They also minded our bags for the day when we arrived before check in time, and after we had checked out but weren't ready to leave town.

"Nice enough, nothing special"
Decent hotel, not a great second bed for the kids. Staff OK, not overly friendly. No link to the spa facilities via the hotel's website so no way of booking them in advance.

"Great value!"
We have stayed here before and think that this hotel is amazing value. The rooms are comfortable with a small balcony and a good bathroom. Lovely swimming pool and gardens, all the staff are friendly and this time made some great restaurant recommendations. Yes there are coach tours but we did not eat in the hotel so these did not impact too much . Very pleasant walk into Jerez, and close to other things you may choose to do.

"A very pleasant stay"
We came to this hotel at the recommendation of the family of a friend who lives near Jerez, and we weren't disappointed. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English, and gave good advice about the Semana Santa processions. The buffet breakfast was reasonable. The only downside was that the room smelled of smoke when we arrived, but this soon went with the window open. And don't expect much of a view!

Pocket Guide: Cadiz Jerez de la Frontera Independent Boutique Hotels

An attractive little town, Jerez is famous for sherry (a corruption of its name) and its equestrian school. Several bodegas invite visitors to see how sherry is made. The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art is open to the public daily to watch training, with a show every Thursday. The big annual event is the Spring Horse Fair where the mounted sherry barons are prominent. Also see the 11th-century walls of the old Moorish palace.
