“reasonable family hotel for a few nights”
hotel is convieniently located at the end of the main road in Jasper. Has a great pool and a hot tub outsode. the inside hot tub was not operational when we were there.
“recomended”
The staff is very helpfull and the we enjoyed our stay allot.
“Just reasonable hotel at Jasper.”
The hotel was clean and good condition, considering its reasonable price compare to other accommodations at Jasper area. One disadvantage was the window position. I couldn't open the window and curtain since it faced hallway.
“A little pricey, but not out of line”
The hotel was a little pricey, but seemed in-line with the other options in Jasper. Unfortunately, our room was way in the back with a view of a concrete block wall out our window. At least the wall had a nice coat of paint on it.
“Enjoyed our anniversary there”
Not bad for the price very nice staff there and quiet
“Good deal.”
The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent as you are able to walk downtown for meals or out into the wild for a hike from your hotel. The pool could be a little warmer.
“NOT IMPRESSED”
It is a "Motel Style" lay out, very basic rooms of no more than one star hotel. The hotel is very expensive, considering its quality, the furniture is very old. The maintenance level is very low. Parking spaces are tight. There is nothing picturistic that one can enjoy, from inside the hotel, the hotel backs a residential area. The rooms are in raws similar to "dormitories". The only positive aspect about this hotel is that their frontline emplyees are polite and welcoming with good customer service attitudes.
“Maligne Hotel : Jasper, Alberta Canada”
At two bills per night, the Maligne Hotel more on the level of a Motel Six or a Days Inn experience. Hotel staff were locals and pleasant/helpful, but the room was so so, = slightly seedy, and in need of some basic repairs that the thinly disguised cosmetic updates failed to hide.
“Way overpriced”
For what we paid for the room I would have expected it to be a four star rating, but the room was two star at best. I don't mind paying good money for a hotel/motel room, but I expect it to be worth it. The restaurant had a breakfast buffet that featured scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and pancakes and the usual cold items. Again, way overpriced for limited selection and average quality at best.
“Okay, nothing great”
The Maligne Lodge was about what I expected: what I consider a 1960's-style 2-story drive-up motel. The exterior shows wear, and the interior is nothing to write home about. But what we wanted was a clean room with a comfortable bed -- not a place to spend much time other than sleeping. And for that, the Maligne Lodge was perfectly fine. One plus is the in-toom air conditioner in each room. (Many hotels and motels in Banff and Jasper lack A/C, which can be a problem during the peak of summer.) The location is the last one on the main street of Jasper, but it's a quick few block drive into the small town, so the location is fine unless you want a short walk to restaurants in town. In most places, the price is high for what you get -- but this is a small tourist town with a short summer season, and you have to accept that prices are higher than you'd expect elsewhere; viewed in that light, the price is okay for what you get. If you're looking for a nice lodge, where you can sit on your balcony and look out over nice scenery, the Maligne Lodge isn't for you. If you need a place to crash for a night or two in Jasper after your daytime activities in the wondrous areas nearby end, then the Maligne Lodge is a reasonable, very basic motel.
