“Really enjoyed Maligne Lodge”

We had been on the road traveling for several days with an extended family group. We had two of the kitchenettes and just loved the rooms. With two separate bedrooms and a kitchen we had space to move about and make some home made meals to save some money. Beds were comfortable. Loved the hottub and there is sooooo much to do in the area. The breakfast is not complimentary. It is $15 for a good buffet I appreciated the staffs friendliness and found they were helpful when we asked for little extras.

Area recommendations
Try to stay at least 4 nights in this area. There are so many natural features to go see I can not list them. What I love about Jasper is it works for all ages. It has free activities for all ages.

“NOT IMPRESSED”

It is a "Motel Style" lay out, very basic rooms of no more than one star hotel. The hotel is very expensive, considering its quality, the furniture is very old. The maintenance level is very low. Parking spaces are tight. There is nothing picturistic that one can enjoy, from inside the hotel, the hotel backs a residential area. The rooms are in raws similar to "dormitories". The only positive aspect about this hotel is that their frontline emplyees are polite and welcoming with good customer service attitudes.

Area recommendations
I have no concern about the distance of the hotel from downtown, it is about one kilometer
Must see
MALIGNE LAKE: you can book transportation and cruise frm a doentown office. Maligne Lake is one of Canada's postal cards pictures. ATHABASCA FALLS: aroud 30 kilometers from downtown. the falls are one of Canada's best natural areas to be seen, it includes historical mysteries. The TRAMWAY: is a tram that would take you all the way from the valley to the top of the mountain, where you are going to be very close to the clouds.

“A room with a view... of Whistlers”

The hotel is better than I expected, may be because it does not look that great on the outside. The service was great, the room was clean - very nice sheets. The bed was too soft my our liking, but that was the only complaint I had. We will be back.

Area recommendations
There is so much to see in Jasper. Starting with Old Fort Point trail, Pyramid Lake, and Anette Lake, and ending with Mount Edith Cavell glacial loop.

“Pricey...and Cheesy”

Staff were great but we booked online and when we got there they tried giving us less than what we had booked. But still wanted to charge us for the higher priced room for less of a room. Needs updating in suite rooms. Not worth what we payed, kinda cheesy, but it was very clean and staff did eventually give us what we bought online.

Dining
Pretty much everything in this town shuts down at 10. So if your up for a late meal or such , Earls is about your only option if you have minors with you.

“Would book again”

We were impressed by the size of the room. The room also had a fridge, stove and microwave with basic supplies.Indoor Pool and Outdoor hot tub were great, well maintained.

Dining
Take breakfast food, you can prepare it in the room and save some dollars.

“Way overpriced”

For what we paid for the room I would have expected it to be a four star rating, but the room was two star at best. I don't mind paying good money for a hotel/motel room, but I expect it to be worth it. The restaurant had a breakfast buffet that featured scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and pancakes and the usual cold items. Again, way overpriced for limited selection and average quality at best.

“basic”

If you're looking for a hotel to stay in jasper downtown only to sleep and not so expensive, this is your hotel. parking is not that easy, specially on high season or long weekend.

“I definitely will go back to this hotel next time!”

Reasonable price, big room size, clean. The only thing I can complain is parking space, but that seems to be a common problem in Banff/Jasper area.
