“Loved our stay here.”
I wish I had known beforehand about the AMA discount, we would have saved a significant amount of money.
“Great little place that won't break the bank!”
The Astoria is a quaint little place with a couple of floors of rooms. We stayed in a room on the second floor with a view of the mountain and main street. A few friends stayed in rooms not on the mountain side and mentioned that their rooms were different, so be aware our experience may be be reflective of all rooms at the Astoria. Our room was equiped with a queen sized bed and a pull out couch. It had a tv, a small fridge, controllable heating and AC. The washroom was equiped with a small bathtub. The room was clean and well kept. The only thing we noticed that were out of the ordinary were the windows did not close all the way in our room (which wasn't an issue as the weather we had was nice and it wasn't a lot of noice coming from the street below and even though they advertised free wifi, we were not able to connect to it (we didn't not ask for assistance though, and just used data on our phones to search up the map of jasper we were looking for). The staff was friendly, the location was superb and we were very happy with their prices. Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel. It's no Marriott or Hilton, but we liked it better that way because its atomosphere perfectly set the tone and mood for a great trip in the little town of Jasper at a very reasonable price.
“Oh Whatta Night....”
Our stay at Astoria Hotel was good. On the upside, the staff were extremely helpful, and pleasant to deal with, the restaurant downstairs has some of the best food we have ever tasted, and you are right in the center of Jasper which makes it extremely easy to get around by foot. There is ample parking across the street, and anything that you might need is only a short walk away. On the downside, the views leave a little to be expected. We were facing another hotel suite, which meant that we could not leave our curtains open, and the kingsize bed felt like two twins pushed together (There was an uncomfortable seam down the middle). The bathroom was a bit small, and very cold. However, with all that being said, the room was quite comfortable, and the hotel itself has a very "homey" feel to it. I would most definitely stay again, maybe next time though I'll splurge to get a mountain view.
“Quaint & convenient!”
It isn't fancy, but has everything you need for your room. The location is the best, close to everything in town.
“50/50”
The shower is extremely small and the water temperature was EXTREMELY sensitive. Didn't touch the tap and went from extremely cold to extremely hot in seconds! Super weird the sink is outside of the bathroom. Bed was a bit hard but ok to sleep on. The wireless internet didnt work at all on our laptop on iphone. The staff was super nice. The room was clean. Is ok for a night or two but wouldnt stay for a week. Great for singles or couples. Probably not the best for big families.
“Mediocore”
Hotel was okay, not too bad but not too too great either. The biggest flaw was noise and people running through hallway during the night as there was no curfew hour
“Great Location, Tiny Rooms.”
The hotel is in an awesome location and there is amenities very close by. The restaurant is really good. There is a fantastic pizza place next door. The room was very small, it didnt bother us, but it would not be big enough if I was travelling with kids.
“Small but nice”
Rooms are really small but everything else was fine. One of the better bargains in Jasper
“Good Stay”
My brother and myself stayed in this hotel for a weekend of boarding at Marmot Basin and I will say that it is a great place to stay if you are not looking for anything extravagant and just a place to crash. It is a pretty basic and old hotel but it is well kept, clean and the hotel staff were very friendly. We stayed in the room with the two single beds that you see in the picture of the rooms. I must say that what you see in the picture is what you get. Beside the sink in the picture will be a door to a bathroom about the size of a closet with a toilet and stand up shower inside. In front of the beds will be a small table and closet with a TV. They also have this rule that you must store your board/skis in a downstairs storage room which you get a key for and a small lock for your board/ski rack. I wasn't to keen on this, but at the end of the day all my stuff was still there. The restaurant that its attached to is very nice, and has excellent eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and has very reasonable pricing for the breakfast menu. I would definitely stay here again if I was by myself or with a friend because the price was right. I believe it was 72 bucks a night.
“Cute, Comfy, but VERY small”
The room was very homey and was very clean. The desk was helpful and extremely pleasant. The bathroom was ridiculously small and the shower was very hot/cold and irratic. Very nice location and atmosphere.
