“Creaky and uncomfortable”

I could hear everything from the kids upstairs to the snoring next door. We were on the ground floor and our floor squeaked so loud.

“Okay but have got better rooms from Expedia”

We had to weave our way through the houskeeping carts and supplies to get to our room. The room was large and adequate but not very clean. The phone was disgusting and there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. We were on the ground floor with a sliding glass door to the parking lot. The door was not locked when we checked in. We had to park on the street as the parking lot was small and full. The adjoining restaurant as excellent with reasonable prices . We would eat there again. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant were very pleasant.

“Need Updating”

This hotle has seen better days and shows it. Everything is on the cusp of being seedy. It was clean, the beds were comfortable the washrooms were fine. For the price and the location I guess it was OK. The attached dining room served OK food but service was really slow, although there was no one else in the dining room at the time.

“Horrible hotel”

Not impressed. Rooms very outdated and very dirty. Came in on a Monday to drop items off. Left the hotel to go shopping, got back late and went to bed. In the morning noticed a large amount of hair all over bathroom and the shower curtain was previously used as a tissue for someones nose. We notified staff, they switched us to a different hotel room. When we asked at check out if we were getting refunded they said "No, they were not informed of room problem until the am therefor there was nothing they could do about it" Apparently this hotel requires you to do a full cleanliness inspection ahead of time before you get comfortable. Will never go to this hotel or its affiliates ever again.

“A Sweet Suite!”

We booked this hotel on a one day only Expedia sale. It was by far the least expensive hotel in Jasper during the summer. I had stayed in the same hotel a few years ago on a work related event. The sale was for a two bed room and when we arrived we were given a queen bed with a separate suite. The hotel is on the main street and has lots of restaurants and amenities. We will be back!

Area recommendations
Spend some time wandering the main street and going to Athabasca Falls!

“Value for money, cosdiering peak season”

A little dated. Good location. Good price considering it was booked last minute and in the middle of peak season.

“Such a great place to stay”

I love staying at the Amethyst. The staff are very friendly and accomodating and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The view from the balcony is fantastic. Set on the edge of town, it is within easy walking distance of everything but away from the hubbub. Just up the road from the hotel was a herd of Elk. Who could ask for more.

Area recommendations
I would recommend taking one of the wildlife tours or the excellent white water rafting offered by various companies in Jasper. Exhilerating!

“Great location, nice hotel”

This hotel was a great place to stay, needs a bit of updating but overall comfortable. The rooms are small and the bathroom was tiny so would be very crowded for an extended stay. We did not use the restaurant or lounge except for our coffee to go in the morning. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

“Just OK for an over night stay.”

Hotel was just so-so. We didn't have many options left when we booked, so we ended up here. We were in for only one night, so it was sufficient. On the up side: Walkable distance to the core area of Jasper (only a couple blocks away). Grocery store attached to hotel is handy. Walk-out rooms on main floor, balconys on second floor. On the Down: Not enough parking for the whole hotel in their lot. We had to park on the street since we got in late. Beds very uncomfortable, hard as a rock. Hotel is not the best looking place, but it did look like they were renovating hot tubes on the main floor at least.

“not bad for the price”

looked for a hotel for a while in Jasper that was in our price range and went for this one. had no idea about it apart from it was near the town centre. it was right on the main street but far enough away that it was still quiet at night. the layout of the room was a bit odd (bed first, then sofa and tv) but overall it was a good stay. one problem i found was the shower and towels, not very tall people friendly, but you cant please everyone i guess!!
