Great View !

Posted 5-Apr-2014
Pros: The view was great, and the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Thin walls
Our visit was nice, however, it was very noisy. The walls are very thin, allowing noise from outside (hallway, outside) to be heard. Not much sleep! On a positive side, the staff was awesome. !!!!

old and some rude staff and terrible room service

Posted 3-Apr-2014
Pros: nothing
The hotel is old for this price, the staff in the starbrooks cafeteria is not very polite. The room service did not reply when we needed. We had water coming form the ceiling. Or they fix this problems or they put much lower prices.

Ugh

Posted 31-Mar-2014
Bathrooms floors were real dirty. Beds were old and sunk in the middle. Lobby gives false sense of a nice hotel but the rooms were outdated and deffently corners were cut. Vending machines on every floor were empty with zero soda. Front desk charges $10 to park you car however I arrived in a taxi but still got billed. Front desk lady was the same as the day prior and saw me arrive in a taxi and even asked if I brought my own car. Huge hassle to get it corrected Sorry I interrupted your day miss

Great location!

Posted 30-Mar-2014
Pros: Balconies, city view, beautiful pool, great location
Cons: Rooms could be updated
Location: Great nightlife and shopping nearby. We took the water taxi ($4) to dinner across the river and walked back across the bridge.
We met friends here and had a great weekend trip. Parking was easy and convenient. Hotel staff was accommodating. The hotel felt older and wasn't quite as nice as we expected but was very clean, affordable, and we loved the location. It would have been nice if the water taxi would stop here instead of us having to run over the highway to get to it. We could have sat by the pool enjoying a drink while watching the boats go by all night! Ruth Chris steakhouse being attached to the hotel was a nice bonus as well!

Close and Convenient for Conference at Hyatt

Posted 24-Mar-2014
Pros: Positive staff, clean room, bright lobby
Location: Jacksonville Landing is just a 1.5km walk across the nearby bridge. Very little else local to see and do.
Enjoyed the room. Unfortunately the weather was poor the week I stayed and the pool is not heated. Riverwalk was under renovation and blue bridge was also being repaired so had a longer walk to the hotel.

Good Enough for Our Purposes

Posted 21-Mar-2014
Pros: The hotel staff was very friendly. From the desk clerks to maintenance staff to maid service, we were greeted often and made to feel welcome.
Cons: The hotel isn't new, and so it was a bit rough around the edges. The hotel could do with some remodeling that amounts to more than a coat of paint.
Location: We didn't get a lot of chance to explore the area, but there was a decent Thai place and brewery with a mile that I had a chance to enjoy.
We booked last minute and chose this hotel because of the star level on Expedia and cost. Overall, I think the high 3-star (nearly 4) rating this hotel had was about right. The place was nice, but it didn't knock my socks off. Some of the amenities (e.g., WiFi, coffee maker, etc.) were functional, but not of the best quality. The room was acceptable (I particularly liked the number and quality of the pillows), but some things just didn't fit. For example, the desk chair didn't really match the desk, so it made getting through the room difficult. Little things. I would say if you're selective, then you probably won't love this place. However, if you're easy-going about the little stuff, then you'll probably be just fine here.

Great river views, good breakfast. Rooms/bathroom low grade. Lobby area has no little shop with snacks and toiletries etc which made stay a pain with child. FILTHY room and bed, saw 2 roaches
