Found room peeling paint, cracked wall & ceiling, hall door allowing light in room from all four sides, could hear people talking in next room and every noise in hall.

Too expensive for what you get

Posted 28-Apr-2015
I paid over $200 a night and there was not even a mini fridge in the room. No complimentary breakfast and you had to pay for parking. To be fair, the room itself was very nice and updated, but the soundproofing was TERRIBLE. I could hear every little noise from both the hallway and outside.

Great staff. Needs some bathroom remodeling

Posted 21-Apr-2015
Pros: Very friendly and great suggestion for where to eat and shop.
Cons: Bathroom shelves to put hair dryers, etc.
Location: Was close to concert we were going to downtown. Lots of road work going on made it difficult to get to beach and Clark's Fish Camp to eat.
Bathroom was not cleaned when we arrived. Called the front desk and they had someone there within 3 minutes to clean. They also gave us free valet parking for our stay.

Terrible in room wifi and carpet glue smell

Posted 29-Mar-2015
Pros: The check in and check out process was fast and efficient. The on property restaurant was a good dining option. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: There is almost no wifi signal in my room, and the smell of carpet glue was so strong that the whole floor smells like rotten citrus.
Location: Jacksonville Landing is right across the bridge. The hotel room itself is facing a huge parking lot, while the right side facing the St. Johns river.
All the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is undergoing a major renovation floor by floor according to one of the workers. Upon arrival, there is a notice that the pool is closed for renovation. When I took the elevator to my floor, I cannot help noticing that there is a strong odor of some sort of rotten citrus. I asked one of the staff, and was told that it is the carpet glue since they have just replaced the carpet on the floor. However apparently the ventilation was poor as the whole floor smells like rotten orange and I can only imagine myself living in a huge trash can that stinks. The other major problem is the in room wifi. Although there are more than five hotspots that could be detected, none of them appears to be functional, as the signals are either weak and unstable, or the connection is very slow. I spent some time checking every corner of the room for wifi signal. It appears that the only "feasible" way to get connected to the internet in the room is to sit in the bathtub. Can't complain after all it is free wifi. The walls are not quite sound proof. During the afternoon I can hear anything going on in the hallway from the housekeeping staff's trolley bumping at the doors to kids running down back and forth. At night when lying on the bed I can hear the next door bumping against the headboard. Did not sleep well as there was a group of people shouting in the hallway around 2 AM. Apparently some party goers are too drunk to behave.

Pros: The beds was awesome.
Cons: Customer service from the front desk staff.
Location: The river walk was cool. Jacksonville Landing was a bit run-down.
The guy who checked us in was quite a jerk. We arrived late to Jacksonville and decided to meet friends of ours for dinner before checking in to our room. Of course, we called the hotel to make sure this was okay before making this decision. We were told that our room was guarunteed until 3am. After dinner, we at the hotel at 11pm. The guy said we lucky to be getting in at that time becasue they overbooked and he was about to remove our reservation. I will not be using their establishment in the future.

You call this a bed?

Posted 16-Mar-2015
Our mattress sagged so terribly that I took a picture to send my friends. A construction crew also started hammering at 8 am on Sunday morning. We got almost no sleep. However, the staff was very kind, the location was convenient, and the Starbucks in the lobby was a huge plus!

Solid, mid-price choice on riverfront

Posted 20-Feb-2015 on Hotels.com
One disappointment: Traveling alone, I arrived late and wanted to eat at the bar. Bartender refused to offer dinner at bar and wouldn't even get me a dinner menu from restaurant 25 feet away. Like many biz travelers, I hate eating alone in dining room. There were only a couple of people at bar and one party in restaurant. Ended up eating choice of bar food I didn't want to stay there. (Thank you to wonderful woman named Yvonne from nearby Starbuck's counter who came over and chatted to make up for the bartender's attitude.) I stay in hotels about 50 nights a year on business, and this has not happened in years. Doesn't help business travelers feel welcome or inclined to linger.

Should have made a better choice

This hotel is run down, and an embarrassment for Ruth Chris restaurant to be on the 1st floor. Room is expensive and you get NO amenities. And you have to pay $10 a day to park! The maids need to be taught how to clean toilets.

The construction was a bit annoying, but the hotel itself was beautiful and we enjoyed our one night get away.

Nice place

Hotel is clean and the staff friendly. We stayed one night in the king room with river view and on our way back stayed in the suite with a river view. Honestly, the suite was awkwardly set up with the sitting area near the door and rather sparsely furnished. I'm my opinion, the regular king room was nicer.
