“Top Notch hotel!!!”
My husband and I travel quite a bit and the Capella has the most amazing rooms we've ever stayed in. It was spacious, clean and the view is unbeatable! The balcony is top notch. Who can complain about having your own private plunge pool? We ate at the Fish Market in the hotel which was ok. Very pricey for fish that aren't in the top "fish food chain". Another favorite thing about the hotel is the attention the staff gives you. At the pool, they will bring you cold water (free!!) and frozen treats throughout the day! I don't know too many hotels does this! Overall, our experience at the Capella was awesome. We highly recommend this hotel!!!
“Excellent resort! Top 100 'Must Visit' places.”
Excellent resort with first class features. No expense spared right down to the faucets in the bathrooms. Each room is more like a private residence then a nice room. You can relax or 'mingle' with your spouse on your patio in complete privacy. Also every room (including patio) comes with spectacular views of the ocean. The service is excellent too. If you want to find a perfect place to retreat with someone special this is it. I have been fortunate to have visited some of the finest hotels/resorts/inns in the world and this is firmly inside the top 100.
“Ecstacy in Ixtapa”
Capella Ixtapa is one of the best tropical resorts in the world. The room are large and have private edgless pools offering views to die for. The staff is well trained and there to serve. We met an eccectic group of people from around the world who were very successful and entertaining. I highly recommend the resort.
“Another glowing Capella review”
I usually don't write reviews, but I really felt the need to on this hotel. I have to admit that I was somewhat skeptical of all the glowing reviews of Capella Ixtapa, but they do earn it. By itself, the room, the view, and the location makes for a great romantic getaway. The level of service provided by the staff really sets things off though. From the moment we arrived we were tended to quickly, and any want was addressed. What made it great: The price - The price makes this an affordable, romantic long-weekend getaway. The view - Incredible. The food - Wow! I took several recipies home and have been trying to get them to live up to what we had there. Truly amazing. The service - Again, amazing. Wether in the restaurants or in the room, the service was fantastic. What could have been better: I do like to get out and have fun in town, and Ixtapa is a bit on the dead side for that. Spring and Summer is thier off-season though so we will have to head back later in the year just to be sure on that point :-). There is no beach at the hotel, which is a shame, but beaches are accessible by excursions, and I would highly recommend Ixtapa Island trip, but travel light as there isn't a lot of places to store your stuff. What was not so great - As some did point out, the incidentals prices are kind of high. It's not excessive, but make sure you account for your incidentals. I would and have recommended this hotel to friends and have every intention on going back soon!
“Amazing Property. Unparalleled Service. Perfect Couples Escape.”
We were very lucky to stay here. This is a true 5-star hotel. This is the kind of place we probably won't be able to afford in 5 years. Here's why: fears about Mexico + relatively unknown Ixtapa + brand new hotel + current state of U.S. economy = amazing deals. The Cappella is a new brand of hotels without much brand recognition at the moment. The chain was started by former Ritz execs whose concept was to build high end hotels with 100 rooms or less to facilitate best in class service. They nailed it. The property is gorgeous. Views amazing. Restaurants were excellent. Pools were beautiful. There's nothing they won't do for you here. Just ask. A couple we met had them bring a table down to the small private beach so they could have their own romantic dinner at sunset. The entire staff learned our names. We felt pampered in every way. Only word of caution: this isn't all inclusive. Food and drinks are expensive, but not back-breakingly so. In retrospect, we probably would have saved a bit by stopping at a market to pick up some wine and beers for the room. This is a 5-star resort that you won't want to leave. A super relaxing escape. The staff could not be more helpful. And with the tough climate for tourism I mentioned above, they are hungry to please.
“Incredibly relaxing”
The Capella Ixtapa is a beautiful hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, the service great. We never left the hotel. Great food and drinks. A different tequila to taste every night in the library. Chips and guacamole with beer delivered to our room every afternoon to enjoy on the patio overlooking the ocean.

We loved the views and private pools. So much nice details and courtesies. Outstanding service. Very private and quiet. A little bit expensive in meals and drinks but it's compensated with all other amenities.
“Great Vacation at Capella!”
We loved this resort even more than La Casa Que Canta. I would go back tomorrow! Location is close enough but not too close to the action in town. Food was great and service excellent. We could have lived in the plunge pool in our room but did venture out to enjoy Ixtapa. Believe the great reviews, I am glad we did!
“Very Impresssed”
The hotel was beautiful. Our room was beautiful. The view from our room was awesome. The infinity edge pools were very nice. Great service. The food and drinks were very good but pricey. We were there mid-January and felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves. We told all our friends about it when we got home.
