“Comfort and Convenience”
So far the best option in the area.
“Great Pool”
My daughters and I loved having a warm pool to swim in - that was the reason I originally booked this hotel, sight unseen. Our beds were very comfortable, and we used the room refrigerator for left over dinners and soda pop. Even tho the hotel is right next to the Mall, traffic noise was undetectable. The bad things: parking lot badly in need of re-surfacing; the dark, kinda creepy lobby; and the WiFi wasn't operating while we were there. There was a small business center with a computer, but someone was always using it when we looked in. However, the pool, comfy beds and quiet trumped all.
“Good Value For The Money”
The hotel is well located, staff friendly, and the rooms decent. The property is showing its age (especially the parking lot, which has many potholes) so don't expect new and fancy. However, it's clean and well-maintained, and is priced for travelers on a budget.
“Excellent location and nice room.”
Convenient locaiton to the north campus of Cornell University. Room is clean and quient. Dining price is reasonable.
“pleasant stay”
The lady at the front desk was very nice, she changed our room without us asking because initially we were supposed to be in a room next to a party. The room we got was very quiet. They just need to update the shower because the taps are very difficult to turn and the pipe was somewhat clogged.
“Staff was very nice, room needed upkeep”
Room was of a good size, hotel grounds were nice, very nice staff. Carpet was desperately need of replacement, moldy tub not appealing, pool was nice.
“The parking lot is "gorges."”
I go to Ithaca to see the Gorges. I didn't expect to find them in the hotel parking lot. First impressions mean a lot, and Clarion would be wise to consider the impression this hotel makes. The ragged parking lot, dated decor, and carpetless entryways belong to a dingy motor lodge along Rte 66. A hotel that charges Ivy-league rates in an Ivy League town needs to be better maintained. That said, the room itself was clean and comfortable. Just not worth the price.
“Not bad overall”
Our visit to the Clarion was not bad overall. The hotel was tidy though had a musty smell about it and was really in need of a decor update. The parking lot was a disaster. Full of huge potholes that made us wonder how the hotel would be inside. Our room was clean and cozy, though we did have a bit of a challenge with the entry card at first. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the wireless internet to work which was frustrating. We did enjoy the breakfast the next morning though so all in all our stay wasn't unpleasant.
“Clarion”
When I arrived, there wre not any cars and the parking lot was full of potholes. I thought the holel was abandoned. But I found the lobby and it was open. The place looks like it is being refurbished. Many nice features but they are not used, the room was comfortable and clean.
“Not worth the price”
I was expecting a 3-star hotel, turns out it is essentially a 2, maybe 2.5 star. There was only 1 accessible power outlet in the room. I had to switch between my laptop and my phone charger. Shuttle service is convenient, but make sure you call ahead. They did pay for my cab when the shuttle was not available, which was nice. Staff is friendly, but the the entire feel of the operation felt like nobody cared.
