lovely hotel with great views

Pros: Clean & an excellent outlook
Cons: Facilities during renovation
Location: AS per my comments under "experience"
Unfortunately the hotel was undergoing renovation so many of the normal facilities were either unavailable or curtailed. Despite this the character of the hotel with its views over the Bosphorus makes it a good place to stay.I think more appropriate for a business traveller as access to the major tourist areas in Istanbul is a fair distance away & use of taxis can become expensive. This was our second stay at the hotel but the reality of the disruptions due to the renovations tended to colour our opinion on whether this was the most suited hotel for a tourist short stay.

Always amazing

Pros: Location, service, rooms, common areas - you name it!
Cons: The decor is getting dated, thus the renovations. Otherwise, outstanding.
Location: In the middle of everything, with the view of Bosphorus!
Returned after a few years between the initial stay and was pleasantly surprised to see quality well preserved. The hotel is currently under renovations, but this did not distract from the outstanding stay we had.

Luxury hotel.

Pros: The level of service is extremely high. Breakfeast was amazing with a vast selection. Room service was good after a hard day .
Cons: We were unhappy that the outdoor swimming pool was closed.
Location: You could run or relax in the park across the road. A choice of restaurants ,one next door ,more nearby ,although these are not cheap.
We felt very at home here with a marvellous view of the Bosphorous. You do have to walk for 15 mins. down to the coast road to pick up a tram to get into town,so there are not many shops to pick up essential supplies on the way home.

Nice... but questionable practices

Nice hotel with well trained staff in general. Very good location and some rooms have beautiful bosphorus views. Although it was a nice stay, something extremely bugged me. I gave a pant and a shirt to be ironed and my wife's dress to be dry cleaned for the same evening (They called it Express). THEY CHARGED $105 FOR THAT. I asked for a shirt&pant ironing at Movenpick, Izmir (which I needed in 3 hours) two days before and it was completely free of charge. Never staying at this place again.

Great hotel with a great view. The staffs were ok. All the restaurants were closed for renovation.

it was a good hotel but...

Hotel location is amazing, service is good.... but.. 1. You cannot close the outdoor swimming pool in summer! 2. Rooms decorations are from the beginning of this century... but now it needs a renovation, definitely best location is Istanbul but is not worthy the amount of money paid... at least until all rooms are renovated.

Pros: The view overlooking Bhosporous
Cons: Staff attitude.
Room overlooking Bhosporous was great. Bathroom needs makeover - old. Unimpressed with staff - on arrival at Hotel, no one came forward to help with luggage. Nespresso coffee machine in room but had to pay for capsules - Aust Dols 6.00 per capsule. A capsule cost 80 cents. Outrageous. Would not stay at the Hotel again.

Great Hotel overlooking the Bosphorus

Make no mistake, this is a great hotel. Located just above the Dolmabahce Palace, the views of the Old City are superb, as is the service. I was seriously disappointed because the West Tower, including the rooftop bar, was under construction. And still I left satisfied. The service is amazing, as is the spa---best sauna and steam room I have ever seen, plus excellent pool and fitness rooms. Room service is not cheap, but the quantity and quality are impressive. The rooms are grand, with every luxury including Bose iPod players, Nespresso machines, robes, and shoehorns. You have to take a cab to most locations, but cabs in Istanbul are cheap, and you return to your own palace. This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. And once they get the West Tower fixed up and the garden bar re-opened, it will amaze.
