“europe meets asia”
wonderful and convenient location. breakfast on the roof top terrace over looking the sites and the water was refreshing. a boufet breakfast that can last all day. staff exceedingly helpful. Management has renovated the hotel and is an enjoyable boutique hotel. close to ram system and the rail system. walkable city .
“turkish delight”
Whether or not you like this hotel depends on how you travel. The location is outstanding, the staff very friendly and accomodating, the view from the rooftop restaurant beautiful. I would go back without question. Please note, however, that the rooms are small, it's a little noisy, and the shower is frustrating. If you only stay in Four Seasons there is one around the corner. If you only stay in Four Seasons, I feel sorry for you.
“Endroit plaisant”
“Nice hotel, but make sure ther is no construction”
The hotel is well situated next to the palace wall in the very historic Sultanahmet area - you cannot get more central. The staff is extremely nice and the rooms are alright. Our bathroom was extremely cold and at one point there was a sewer smell from the drain, whcih I covered with a plastic bag, otherwise it was a nice room. Our stay was mired by construction going on right outside our window (the hotel had no road in front of it - we had to walk through the entranceways to other hotels to get to it) that went on until 1am one night - Expedia should have listed there was construction happening, but they didn't.
“Fantastic Customer Service”
Well, everything that could go wrong with our flight to Istanbul happened. Delayed flights, lost luggage, (all of it for the first six days). Thanks to the Megara Palace for making us feel right at home. The manager, Ali, was extremely helpful in dealing with the Turkish airlines regarding our lost luggage. Ali even e-mailed me after we returned to the states to inform me that the fourth piece of luggage arrived after we had already checked out of the hotel. Ali arranged for the airline to pick the luggage back up so it could be returned to me in the states. I could not have asked for better staff service. The Megara also has a new restaurant located on the roof top. Make it a point to eat there, the wine and food are impressive. Happy Traveling!
