Comfortable hotel near activities.Posted 29-Jun-2014
Pros: Close to everything, friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable room.
Cons: There needs to be more shelf space in the bathroom.
Location: Many restaurants and shops within walking distance. It is close to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and other historical sites.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They provided a map and several suggestions for activities in the area. Front lobby was clean and had several areas for sitting if waiting for someone. Room was reasonable size and comfortable. WIFI connection worked well. The tasty breakfast was served on the top floor which had an excellent view of the city.

Good hotel in an excellent locationPosted 31-May-2014
Pros: The view from the top floor restaurant, the friendliness of the staff and the excellent location.
Cons: Bathrooms could be bigger.
Location: Everything you would want to see in Istanbul is nearby. Get any standard guidebook and just about everything they recommend seeing will be close.
Excellent location near the main tourist sites: the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Hagia Sophia. Within walking distance of the old city with its innumerable shops and restaurants. The view from the restaurant on the top floor is simply fantastic, especially at night. The hotel staff all speak reasonably good English (some French and Russian also) and are extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but adequate. Bathroom is very modern but a bit cramped. Food at the restaurant is good, and there are hundreds of other good restaurants nearby if you want something different. Be sure to have a map with you showing the hotel location (a Google map is good) because taxi drivers will have difficulty in finding it. An outstanding hotel for the price.

Location: Close to everything there is to see in old Istanbul, walking distance.
The Hotel was still in renovations, specially the roof/view area, but the staff there made our stayed so welcoming, that we did not mind it. The last couple of days we got to enjoyed the terrace view, we had breakfast there, breathtaking, see the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia at night time from the roof of our Hotel was worth every penny. The people that work at the Hotel are very , very nice. Thank you The hotel it is close to all the sights in old Istanbul, very convenience and quite from the crows.

Steps to everythingPosted 7-Oct-2013
Cons: Nothing at all
Location: Everything that you need to see as "tourist" is at your finger tips.
The only thing you need is map. Even you are close to blue masque and castle and restaurants and bazaar those little streets can be tricky.

Beautiful viewPosted 13-Sep-2013
LOVED the Lady Diana. This is a perfect location in a nice, safe and quiet neighborhood, within walking of the hippodrome, blue mosque and aya Sophia, and tram. There is little to no traffic on this front street; the sites were much closer to the hotel than I had anticipated, which was wonderful! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were on the fifth floor and enjoyed the convenience of the rooftop restaurant. What a beautiful view! The rooms aren't five star but you shouldn't be spending time in your room anyway. Everything is perfect and at a reasonable price.

Cosy hotel close to the main sights of IstanbulPosted 25-Aug-2013
Pros: The rooftop restaurant and view by themselves make staying here worth it. Good breakfasts too. We liked the manager a lot due to long, friendly chats.
Cons: The front desk staff were a bit reserved at first but warmed to us. The hotel is rather underlit, especially the hallways to the rooms.
Location: It's right in the centre of the historic district of the city - about five minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia is a bit further.
I chose this hotel almost randomly because of its name - my wife is a fan of Diana. We were quite pleasantly surprised by our stay there.

Pleasant Hotel for family travel.Posted 24-Jul-2013
Pros: Roof top restaurant was favourite place.
Cons: Small rooms; power went down twice.
Location: Location is perfect for visiting Sultan Ahmad area and shopping at Grand Bazar.
All rooms are small, but comfortable enough to make your stay pleasant. We spent most of our day time touring the city and shopping at Grand Bazar. The restaurant on roof top is nice-and view of the Bosphorus is breathtaking. The quality of service and food at the restaurant is good.

A good, safe betPosted 12-Jul-2013
Pros: Location, location, location. Free breakfast!
Cons: Slightly moldy shower in the bathroom
Location: Unbelievable - you can't do much better for mid-range.
Lady Diana Hotel is unbelievably close to the Blue Mosque and the Haghia Sophia - a five minute walk and you're there! Lots and lots of restaurants nearby, and plenty of tourists milling around. And the view from the rooftop restaurant is incredible. The room was comfortable, though the bed was a little hard, and to be honest, the shower was a little moldy. But the room was very clean, the air conditioned worked fine, and the windows opened (which was lovely to let in the evening breeze). The staff was friendly, especially the housekeeping and restaurant staff. It was quiet, and as a single woman traveller, I felt very safe.
