“Right in the centre of Istanbul”

Hotel is very good for the price, clean rooms, comfortable beds. The location is perfect for sight seeing- right next to the Hippodrome, and Blue Mosque, you really need not take a cab/bus/tram ever to see the main cultural aspects of Istanbul. Downsides: The hotel is in the centre, the hotel is right next to the Blue Mosque. What this means is that it's noisy and busy in the streets outside it and you will certainly hear the call to prayer at all hours. In my mind this is a small sacrifice to make for the excellent location,

“Amazing staff”

The staff was very helpful. I was on vacation with a friend who happened to get very sick. The staff was wonderful and supplied her with a constant supply of tea. Hotel was very centrally located and the breakfast room has a great view of the surrounding area.

The hotel was very clean, quaint and the staff were great, friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for exploring the old city. The perfect stay for a long weekend as all the sights are close by so you dont spend all your time travelling. We will definitely be back. Jo and Siobhan

“Great Location, Friendly Hosts”

Hotel is located right near the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi Palace. Excellent location to the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazzar and Turkish Baths. Hosts coould not do more for you and provided free tea, coffee all day. Great at giving advice on things to do, see and places to eat. Clean and confortable.

“Had a great time in Istanbul”

I stayed in Hotel Spectra for 6 nights from 14/02/10-20//02/10 with my ten year old daughter It was very easy to get to the hotel from the airport. You buy two jetons(token) to get to Sultanahmet and walk a few minutes and you are there. two jetons costs about 92 pence! The location of the hotel is excellent as it is right next to the Blue mosque and convenient to go to anywhere by foot. Yes, the room was small and a bit dated as I read on the review but we stayed out sight seeing all day and just went back to the room in the evening to rest and sleep. The room was kept clean and the pressure of shower was very good. And there were a good selection of breakfast. If you are planning for a cruise, don't pay a fortue for an organised tour, just walk down to pier and pay 10 Lira(£4.60) for over two hours of boat trip. When you get to the pier, don't buy from the men trying to sell you an expensive boat trip. There is a boat with a sign clearly stating 10 Lira boat trip, and we got on this boat which left at 12:00. There are longer cruise but I think this two hour trip was more than enough for us. I am not recommending this hotel for a honeymoon but for the money I paid, a clean, warm room, friendly staff, and the great location, I can certainly recommend to anyone. PS. Istanbul is very safe. I am a single mum and I was going everywhere by foot with my ten year old, I felt safe and comfortable.

We had a corner double room which was very comfortable and our two grown-up children had a twin which was smaller but equally comfortable, breakfast setting was as the photos show, absolutely stunning, staff were friendly and could not do more. The location is ideal, strongly recommended.

“Spectra Hotel Feb.2010”

Very helpful staff with advice on tours, restaurants and shopping. English spoken fluently. Decent breakfast in top floor room with good view. GREAT location at corner of the Hippodrome. Quiet and clean with nice lobby decor. Rooms are smallish and simple - but a great deal for the price. Would stay there again.

“Excellent value for money”

This hotel is great for tourists in Istanbul. Very central to all the major attractions in the old part of the city, only minutes walk from the tram, Grand Bazaar,Mosques & Palace, beautifull roof top terrace for breakfast and on a peaceful corner away from heavy traffic. The staff were all friendly & helpfull. We had booked a triple room which was small for 3 tall guests but were offered 2 separate rooms as they were also available.The rooms were clean & comfortable & compare well for size & plumbing with other hotels in this price range. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location and the staff are really nice and helpful. it's very clean and the breakfast was good and the view from the terrace was fantastic. the only complaint we had was the Air conditioner wasn't very cold and it seemed like they couldn't do much about it. would recommend it and we would stay again.
