"Lovely hotel out of the way of central Shanklin."
Brilliant stay at this hotel. Quiet and away from the main drag and seafront of Shanklin but within 15 minutes walk from the Old Village.
The ground floor twin room I booked had ample room for two people and a modern shower room. The beds had a foam mattress which for myself and my travel partner was comfortable, but may not be to everybody's satisfaction so be aware of this.
Breakfast was very good with popular options of full English, poached/scrambled eggs on toast and kippers (which were delightful).
Welcoming and attentive staff. Could not fault them.
Very good value for £50/night!

We have just returned from an amazing 4 nights stay at Casati House.
I have used the word 'fabulous' in the title, as the décor and service both deserve a special superlative.
We both loved the ambience of the place and the welcome we received. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt really at home. We didn't miss the TV as their were better things to do. ;-)
Our room was comfortable and clean, the décor fantastic (the photos don't do it justice!) and the view across the Solent was incredible.
Ryde itself appears to be on the turning point. There are a few tired-looking shops and restaurants, but plenty of smarter establishments moving in to take over. The Coastal Railway leaves from Ryde Pier, only a short walk from Casati House, and you can connect to the Steam Railway. Quite a treat if you want a break from driving.
I am definitely going to be recommending Casati House to my friends.
If you are travelling to the Isle of Wight and looking for a very special experience, check out Casati House. If you're looking for nice Formica tables and gingham table cloths, go somewhere else.
I also strongly recommend using their restaurant; the food is simply amazing. Fancy a champagne breakfast? This is the place. Indulge yourself... you deserve it.

The room was really clean and the bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom was neat and the hot water supplied very well. The breakfast was fantastic. They provides home made recipe food(jam, marmalade, scone, croissant etc). They got breakfast award by "AA", "enjoy england dot com" etc. The owner was really kind. We didnt know they dont allow baby. However they kindly let us bring our baby. We brought our own cot bed and they really welcomed us and cared about our baby. We were so impressed by their hospitality. Overall I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

From the moment we booked the service was excellent. Communication about our booking was almost immediate and our ferry was booked for us. We received a warm welcome on arrival, it was clear that nothing was too much trouble. We were booked into the only family room in the B&B it was spacious and very nicely decorated. At the top of the house though so if you don't like stairs then think twice. The kids had their own room and their own TV which they loved and was great for us. It was very clean and lots of extras were provided like biscuits and any type of tea, extra tea bags and milk were provided on the landings too.
The breakfasts were lovely - we tried the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, the full English, the American breakfast, the cherry and berry pancakes, the fresh fruit salad and the cereals - not all on the same day though! All of it was delicious.
