A fabulous stay
We have just spent Monday Night and Tuesday Night (12th and 13th June 2023) at Hewitt's. My sister and I were over on the island to sort out our older sister's funeral. Hewitt's was absolutely ideal for us to use as a base. The breakfast was mainly continental. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean. There is no parking which wasn't a problem for us as our niece who lives on the island was picking us up everyday. Katie who looked after us was lovely and very helpful. I'm sure that we will stay again. Hewitt's was very quiet which is what we needed but I think it's because the restaurant wasn't open during our stay. All in all we had a lovely and restful stop here.

Very easy check in, rooms very clean and spacious and well presented, excellent location with good parking options, tucked away nicely with a beautiful outdoor space for eating or having a drink, excellent food, owners and all staff very friendly.

I was greeted on arrival and made very welcome.My bedroom was situated on the 1sf floor and was warm and very comfortable.The en-suite was adequate but needed some background heating.

Nice hotel
Very nice, large, comfortable and clean room. Excellent service, nice continental breakfast. Parking on road outside. Easy to walk around Newport town centre from there.

A good find.
An overnight stay which was great. Very comfortable, clean and welcoming. We didn't use the restaurant for dinner but it was busy and looked popular. The breakfast was great. We'll be back for sure.

The room was clean as was the bathroom.the room did look very old. Staff were all friendly … didn’t use dinning as went out for a meal, not really that impressed with continental breakfast but that was my fault for not reading things properly and no worries anyway as we just declined and went elsewhere

Lovely property, spacious well appointed rooms
Lovely property dating from 1690 in Newport. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. Rooms are above a high quality restaurant. Parking is available in a large car park which is nearly opposite the restaurant & rooms. The proprietor was very helpful with information and also understanding when we had to truncate our stay as father-in-law was taken ill. The staircase is a little challenging for individuals with mobility issues.

Very enjoyable stay
We had a very enjoyable stay at Hewitt. Newport is a great central base to explore the island. Dean who runs the establishment was very helpful as were the rest of his staff. Would have no trouble in recommending this place

Lovely old building but clean & modern room set up. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was disappointing to discover that their simple breakfast (no full English on offer. just continental or a bacon sandwich) was NOT included in the price. For what they did offer - it should have been included in the price.

This was a great place to stay! We stayed for 5 nights while we were down in Ilse of Wight and the room was in great condition and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We also ate in the restaurant on the last night and we were not disappointed - the menu options were incredible and the food was delicious. I was incredibly impressed that nearly everything on the menu had a gluten free option as my partner is gluten intolerant. Would happily stay here again and would recommend anyone to stay here!

We like the friendly approach of the owner and he was kind enough to allow early check in . Room was quite comfortable and well equipped with TV and HDMI cable. Bathroom is spacious and provisioned with hair dryer and shower gel, shampoo etc. It was a good experience throughout. I would like to go again if I were to in the future. Thank you Dean ,☺️

Top Getaway on Isle of Wight
Having been to the Isle of Wight many times in the past, I have to say staying in the Hewitt's rooms was the most pleasurable! Before I booked a room at Hewitt's I had a few questions about the hotel, location, parking, baby cot, etc. So i rang up and spoke to Dean (the owner), a very polite and customer centric gentleman who was more than happy answering any of my queries and was very helpful in giving adbice on the various options on parking in the area. Throughout our stay Dean was always on hand to answer with any queries and would greet us every morning of our 2-day stay at breakfast. Breakfast was delicious to say the least, and a great variety for all tastes! Whenever I come back to the Isle of Wight, I will be making Hewitt's my choice of accomodation! Keep up the good work guys!

Wonderful stay at the Hewitt's. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay at Hewitts Restaurants and Rooms, our room was bright, clean and spacious. The beds were also super comfortable! We had a nice view of the garden. The location was perfect, very central if you are keen to explore the whole island. The Staff were very friendly and accommodating, thank you Dean for being a wonderful host. The weather was not on our side so it was a huge relief to return to our room with peace of mind that we were well looked after. 😌 We also enjoyed a lovely meal in the Restaurant on our last night. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
