“Not At All What We Booked!! (BAD HOTEL!!)”
We booked the hotel over the internet and took the optional upgrade to the luxurious room (with a Jacuzzi) When we got there the room wasn't at all what we expected. Our room came without a safe. The Jacuzzi was not working at all. We had no DVD player / music - just a TV with the basic French channels (which was of no use at all to us and remember - this is the luxurious room) We asked for another room with safe, working jacuzzi and DVD but reception confirmed that this was the standard for all the luxury rooms - no safes and a general problem with all jacuzzis being out of order. The room was very noisy at night times and very early mornings - snow car races opposite the road until midnight and snow scraper trucks from 5:30am onwards. The heated pool wasn't hot enough to get into and the pool room was cold. The food was really bad quality and often undercooked although the food was more than enough. The menu had limited variety - only four main course options, repeated every night. Some of these meals were not even available when ordered and the same for the selection of wines. The staff was really helpful and friendly (but the director was very unhelpful, immature and arrogant) The service in general was really bad due to a lack of staff and very poor management. Good points: friendly staff - good location - beautiful views - and LOTS of water for dinner :-)
“Very disappointed”
Rated by Expedia as 4 star hotel, the reality is much more 3 star! Rooms and bathrooms small, balconies and views nice, sitting area very inadequate and bar always populated by a few ski bums, games room consisted of a ping pong table (free) and snooker table (charge to play) in the middle of the sitting area. No a la carte available and 5course set menu plentiful but of poor quality - defrosted catering portions of pie for every desert, sometimes pies/tarts served for hors d'oevres as well, inadequate salads and veg, nothing 4 star about cuisine at all! Basement swimming pool gloomy and often cold. Sauna good. Despite this, staff at hotel were charming and extremely helpful. Shuttle service to slopes essential and efficient. However we would not go back and feel we paid 4 star price for a 3 star hotel.
