“Overrated. Bland and dated”

We booked this hotel based on the good reviews here on Expedia. It is very clean and relatively well placed. The reception staff are very helpful and pleasant. Our room was large but had no balcony. A pity as it had a great view of the castle. The room was bland and had not a single picture or decoration. The furniture was of awful 80's style cane or cane like bent wood. The hotel is filled with it! The worst part is the breakfast. Stale bread, dreadful coffee and an array of cakes in plastic wrappers. Stick to a bit of salami and cheese. I was directed to a numbered table. Dismayed I said it was too bright and moved to another. No you must sit at your numbered table. This table seemed to moved each day. Utterly ridiculous. Very outdated attitude to customers and filled with old couples full boarding. In short, think of nice Fawlty Towers. Underwhelming.
