Clean good sized room, towels, kettle, mugs/tea/coffee making facilities and ample breakfasts. Stayed in family rm and lucky to not have other people stay next door so had the shower/toilet to ourselves. Staff were nice, friendly and polite. Flexible in having takeaway sarnies for lunch in place of breakfast. Decor a bit dated and room a little too room, but on the whole felt very comfortable. Thanks 😊

Will certainly book again
We stayed at the Sorrel Horse for one night and would certainly book again. The rooms are in a separate building to the inn itself so are nice and quiet. We were in room 6 which faced the road but there isn't a lot of traffic so still peaceful. The room itself wasn't the biggest but perfectly fine, with plenty of storage space and immaculately clean. Breakfast in the morning was a full English and delicious, though just cereals etc were on offer if you want something lighter. Add to this the friendly staff and I'm not surprised it gets rated "fabulous".

Review of The Sorrel Horse Inn, Barham,Suffolk.
Ive eaten there before ,so when i needed to stay near Stowmarket i opt to give it a try. We had a nice dinner Sat eve and retired early even though they had music on that night. A good nights sleep and a really good full english breakfast in the morning which set us up for the day ahead! We will certainly stay there again!

After a really long drive it was absolutely wonderful to arrive at the Sorrel horse. The room was lovely , cozy but spacious, the pub was nostalgic and the home cooked food fantastic. There was even a playpark for the kids outside. 10 out of 10!

A pleasant inn. Arrived moments after 11pm all was locked up. I phoned a number on the door and was let in. I.e. if you’re going to be there after 10, let them know etc. Room was fine. Bed and shower all okay. Thank you.

Staff nice
Staff were nice and friendly. Unfortunately the two meals we had off the special board weren’t very special and had little taste. Breakfast was ok. The shower which was very old sprayed water all over the floor as it had no directional head, water was a nice temperature once we got it going. The bed had a rubberised protector under the sheet that made for a very hot sweaty night. Neither of us slept well. It’s a real shame as the staff and pub were nice. Unfortunately we would not go back

excellent little pub with rooms, very nice evening meal, very friendly and helpful staff, evening and morning, everything freshly cooked to order, my room was ground level, room was clean and fresh, bathroom very clean, not modern, but served very well, perhaps needs a lick of paint to freshen it up would be my only criticism,

Perfect family overnight stay
Beautifully presented old country pub, with welcoming, friendly staff. Family room was perfect, very spacious with a double bed for the parents and two singles for the twins. The breakfast area was a little chilly in the morning, (the morning after the first really cold night of the year, Sunday 11th December). That said, the important thing is that the accommodation was warm and comfortable. Will definitely return when next having an overnight stay in the Ipswich area. Thank you very much to Matt, Anne, Amy and the staff.

The place is unfortunately tired and dated. The mattress in my room had just as well been non existent. To top off an awful nights sleep the breakfast water decided at 6:30 to start recycling meaning a rather noisy wake up.

Great food and hosts at this property! Very dog friendly too! Separate sleeping area (not above the pub) on a Saturday night was great as there was no noise! Memory foam mattress didn’t agree with us well and we didn’t get much sleep due to that but everything else was great! Good breakfast as well!

Myself and my daughter came up from Bournemouth to see Ed Sheeran play at chantry Park. The concert in it self was absolutely fantastic as Ed always puts on a great show. Initially when I booked tickets to go to the show obviously I had to book some accommodation and due to hotels being fully booked etc I managed to find this beautiful little inn the sorrel inn. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were absolutely fantastic in helping us make are day one to remember for ever more, we also had a lovely breakfast the following morning and it was gorgeous and cooked ver well. To sum it all up we had a great stay and I could have stayed in this beautiful accommodation for several more nights lol 😂. So I say thanks to everybody at the sorrel horse once again for making are stay one to remember and I would certainly recommend to anyone coming up to this part of the country to stay here. Very very kind regards to you all. Mr Jm Hughes

I can apologise for the fact we didn’t meet your expectations. We have never had a complaint before about the mattress in room 2. I will investigate this. Regarding the breakfast we normally receive very positive feedback for the breakfast. I’m sorry it wasn’t to your liking.

bedrooms are in a seperate building to the pub which is nice. although can hear people in corridor so better soundproofing would be nice, but i slept well (even if the bed was a bit creaky) and the breakfast was lovely kept me going all day.

Nice location - very friendly and helpful staff. attached pub has reasonably priced fair quality food rooms clean and fresh although a little dated décor wise. Be aware that breakfast opens at 08:30 - as we had to leave earlier than this, they provided us wrapped sandwiches the preceding evening.

Decent location, room was clean and spacious with en-suite. Very helpful staff fulfilling my requirements when I checked in. Only slight moan is that I had to wait approx half hour to be let in as no-one was on site or answering the phone when I arrived.
