This property has great potential - its charming and was once an actual hacienda. Its grounds are expansive however not kept up in any way. The rooms were dusty and musky from not being used. Only 1 light bulb in the room to light up the whole room. poorly designed bathrooms with no appropriate space or lighting. Needs basic upgrades. The staff was all of 3 people If you needed something they were accommodating- I would try it again just because of the old world charm but they would have to totally clean up the place

Don’t Believe The Pictures
What a shocking surprise. Tried to find another hotel in town but this was the only pet friendly property. Now I know why the rates were so low. Didn’t need A/C, no WiFi, no food service even though it looked like it might have had a restaurant. Balconies on several rooms had collapsed. Our room had a sign on the slider door warning not to go out on the balcony.

Stay Away!
Do not stay here. The place looks abandoned. We booked 5 rooms. We were met at the front desk by someone that might have been the janitor. We prepaid our rooms. He tried to charge us again, We looked at the rooms. The first room, the door knob fell off while I was trying to unlock the door. The rooms smelt like mould. The lights didn’t work. We did not stay here. We stayed at a different hotel in the end. I am working with hotels.com to get my money back. This hotel should not be in the website.

All icing and no cake
There are several bottom line things I require from any hotel: a secure room, easily available hot water, a comfortable bed, and an operational TV. All the rest is icing on the cake. At La Puerta de Enmedio, it was all icing and very little cake. The furnishings were attractive and the grounds delightful. However, when we tried the key in the lock of the first room they showed us, the key immediately broke off in the lock. In the room we finally accepted, the sliding bolt inside lock was non-functional. One could grow a long beard waiting for the hot water to come on, although--in fairness--it did eventually, at a very low rate of pressure. The TV, which was connected to the Sky system, refused to function. Even after the hotel finally got the Sky people there to "fix" it, the TV soon broke down again. The staff, with the exception of their groundskeeper, was almost completely absent and it took great effort to find them even just to check in. Nobody seemed to be in charge.

The night of the peacock.
The rooms we got were actually very spacious and nicely decorated, but we could barely sleep because of the peacocks screaming all night long, and the roosters having a voice competition. It is unfortunate that this hotel doubles as a poultry farm: all these animals roaming the grounds freely are very pretty, but make sleeping impossible! If you find yourself in Mascota, try sleeping at Hotel Elena, or other hotels.

Hacienda Hospitality - relax and enjoy
We very much enjoyed our short stay on the second floor - beautiful mountain view, nice food ordered from town, slow pace. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Nice gardens
Aconomical, Mexican style hotel, on outskirts of Mascota, with lovely gardens and many interesting birds etc., including peacocks. Large room with kitchenette and tiny balcony. Not luxurious but , for standard Mexican hotels, adequate and quite comfortable

Outside of Mascota (about 3 minutes)
This hotel was a last minute stay over on the way to Puerto Vallarta over new years eve. It's located in "La Puerto de Enmedio", which after 30 minutes of driving around in Mascota, we discovered is a separate little town about 3 minutes down the round. The rooms are big and spacious and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The front desk did not speak English, but even with our little Spanish it was not really a problem. It's located outside of Mascota (about 3 minutes) and has an old spanish "villa" feel to it, complete with a big fenced in grass area (great for kids!), duck pond and even a fully functional church. It is located on the main rd, so it can get a little noisy at night and the hotel does not serve meals (or at least didn't during our stay) so you'll have to find a little restaurant in Mascota. The building is old but has a remarkable charm to it and has various balconies and outside seating available. Truly and amazing experience of rustic, friendly, small town Mexico.

Hacienda en ruinas
El personal es muy amable, habia agua caliente, pero fuera de eso todo lo demas es terrible. El lugar esta cayendose a pedazos y lleno de insectos en los cuartos, compre un insencticida y rocie el cuarto completo, de la cama salieron 2 aranas y algunos insectos tipo cienpies sin contar los que salieron del resto del cuarto. Los cuartos se ve que no se han usado en meses y no han tenido aseo ya que esta todo polvoso y lleno de telaranas. El jardin esta precioso pero tienen en ruinas todo alrededor muy peligroso para ninos ya que hay un pozo abierto y lo que parece ser un estanque con agua empantanada sucia y en el olvido. No me quede ni una sola noche ahi, preferimos perder las dos noches que pague y cambiarnos de hotel.

La reservé a través de Expedia pero al llegar me informaron que no recibieron la reservación y que estaba lleno. Extremadamente incoveniente, pues tuve que buscar hospedaje de último momento. Expedia sí me hizo el cargo a mi tarjeta de crédito, estoy tratando de tramitar el reembolso.

El hotel está pésimamente horrible, con chinches, no sirven las televisiones, se va el agua, los muebles están rotos, los baños con las cortinas rotas y sin mosaicos. La verdad no podemos dar ningún comentario positivo. Además de muy caro en comparación a los hoteles de Su clase.

Lo elegimos por la cercanía al evento por el que viajamos a Mascota, sin embargo ha sido decepcionante encontrar una habitación con un olor penetrante a humedad, descuido en la limpieza de la habitación, el lugar tiene el potencial peor necesita ser manejado de una mejor manera.

This hotel has old Mexico charm in need of an update. For our needs it was affordable comfortable and clean needs tlc . we loved the sitting area and the view was great will stay there again having made the staff aware

es el peor hotel de la zona
hotel con pesimo servicio e instalaciones sin mantenimiento, tiene una apariencia de abandonada y ruinosa. las fotos de la pagina NO SON ACTUALES y no corresponden a la realidad, no saben como operar las reservaciones y la pagina HOTELES.COM no da soporte en ningun momento. Ninguno de los servicios ofrecidos es verdad, internet pesimo, no restaurant, no bar, no spa, no hay ninguna amenidad y mucho menos servicio bilingue (es una burla lo que ofrecen)

El lugar es muy acogedor, el encargado fue servicial con nosotros , es un lugar muy tranquilo. El único detalle fue que a nuestra llegada no tenían nuestra reservación y el baño estaba sucio.

El lugar es muy tranquilo amplio y cómodo pero cuenta con zonas descuidadas y el punto mas critico es que si no vas en vehículo propio todo se complica pues queda muy alejado de el pueblo.
