“Would travel back to Innsbruck solely because this hotel was so great!”

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to any travelers going to Innsbruck. The location was excellent and easily walkable with luggage from the train station. The room was pleasant and very clean. The facilities were modern and clean. The free Wi-Fi was a refreshing change from other hotels in Europe. The hotel is close to the city center and a nice walk in safe areas if one wants to stroll. There are numerous places to eat nearby. I would never stay in an overpriced chain hotel if all small private hotels were run as well as Stoi. Our only complaint was that we only scheduled to stay in town one day. We would have stayed longer had we known we would have enjoyed the lodging as much as we did.

“Great location; conditions exactly as advertised”

We found the hotel exactly as expected from the description and photos. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, plus they spoke excellent English. The room and the hallways were very clean. This is a traditional budget hotel so don't expect carpeting or a super-comfortable bed with a top sheet. We had a nice view of the mountains. Would definitely stay there again.

“The Stoi exceeds expectations”

My family (two adults, 2 children) stayed at the Stoi for 3 nights. For the price, you cant beat it. the location is excellent and the staff is nice and extremely helpful! I cant say enough about how nice they are. Just ask. We were worried that sharing bathroom would be difficult as this is uncommon for us. However, the kids had no problems and the room was very quiet. Innsbruck is so nice, 3 nights was not enough. Try the small pub that is attached tthe Stoi, the people are very nice and Wallie the bartender is outstanding, even with little English knowledge. For what you pay, the Stoi is hard to beat.

“I will go back next time”

I stayed at the Stoi pension for 2 weeks. The pension was clean, the room was large enough, some rooms have a bathroom and some don't, mine had a bathroom and it was very convenient and clean too. No complains, just one negative comment, they do not accept credit cards or checks, only cash. Their add didn't say that and of course the customer has to pay the extra charge of withdrawing money from an American bank in Europe. Also, there is no soap in the bathroom.

As I alrerady mentioned above, at Stoi, a single room means a room for 1 person only. So we had to pay extra for the 2nd guest, which was a bit unecpected as we booked a single room for 2 people. Apart of that the stay was ok and people who are looking for a cheap hotel and do not expect anything fancy will be satisfied there.

“Bad place”

Firstly me and my wife found this hotel quite nice while checking in. The only negative side was complete absence of any kind of soap or shampoo in a bath. The disadvantages of this hotel started showing up while checking out. I was supposed to pay extra fee for my wife while on Expedia the hotel rules claimed "2 persons + 2 kids" max for the booked room and money. Negotiating was very hard, I would say impossible-)) I tried to explain these guys with booking printouts that the problem might have been beetween the STOI and EXPEDIA and by myself asked to call a police to resolve this misunderstanding))) I asked several times to cal the police as a mediator in our discussion, but finally got the F word from the top boss of the hotel (so sad about this really, the hotel is not so bad as it is personnel). The hotel's problem is in an attempt to play on the "hotels market" where the rooms are sold, but not the beds. This is a regular campus, so the payment here is based on the bed\person principle. Be prepared!
