“Very Nice Visit”

My wife and I enjoyed our time here. The home was well maintained, the host charming, and the AC worked great. What more could we ask?

“So much better than staying at a hotel”

It was a treat to stay at this B & B when we visited the Indy 500 for the first time. The location was great to be able to attend the parade and eat at downtown restaurants and drive to the parking for the bus to the race. It was a quiet getaway to enjoy after the crowds. Great breakfasts, friendly innkeeper.

“Charming, but chilly”

The Looking Glass Inn is a charming house in an interesting area of Indy. The proprietors were very nice and the breakfast was delicious. The room was comfortably furnished, although could have benefited from better reading lights. The one drawback: as with many old houses, the bedroom was cold and drafty. If your going in the winter, make sure to bring fuzzy pjs and a warm robe.

“Do not book this place”

I arrived late on my first night and they left my room key in a lockbox on the door which was fine. I never saw a single person working there the entire stay. I was there for 5 nights. I left around 8 am every morning and came back around 5:30 pm most afternoons and then went back out and came back after dinner each night. I only saw other guests 1 time I was there and it was a little old couple who would not let me in the door and made me search for my keys in my purse in the dark outside because they were afraid to let me in. I'm a professional woman in my late 30s. The outside of the hotel smells like cat urine and a fire extinguisher hanging on the wall in the entryway where you have to tote your luggage in and out fell on the floor about 2 inches from my flip flop clad foot. It was not in any way secured to the bracket it was hanging from--it is a real hazard. Don't book the Gold Room unless you want to hear floorboards squeaking every single time you take a step. And last but not least, you go to a bed and breakfast for the personal touch and not only did I not see the owners the entire time I was there, the continental breakfast they set out consists of coffee only--there was tea bags but no hot water to make it--and store bought pastries. I would have been much happier going to the hilton or marriott.
