Smoke smell is a problem

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: Very nice staff
Cons: Enforce the no smoking policy
The last two times we have stayed here, our room has had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, even though it is a non-smoking facility.

Very Comfortable

Posted 10-Dec-2014
Pros: The restaurant was typical - breakfast buffet. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and attentive.
Cons: The elevators were dirty and outdated. Also, the front desk staff was somewhat disengaged with customers - just going about their business.
Location: It sits just off an exit ramp - I didn't explore much around the hotel, but it looked like there was a retail/restaurant strip just to the west.
The hotel is nicely appointed for a mid-level Hilton. The lobby and rooms are spacious and very comfortable. There is a decent workout room and small pool. The elevators need to be cleaned-up because they are dirty and do not fit with the rest of the hotel. The room was very good - good size, typical amenities, quiet, and comfortable.

christmas shopping

Posted 10-Dec-2014
Pros: the location could not have been better for christmas shopping.
Cons: please decorate for the holidays.
Location: the location was close to shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
the hotel and staff were terrific. the only christmas decorations were located in a ballroom. the hotel could have looked amazing with any effort to show the christmas spirit.

Thanksgiving weekend in Indianapolis

Posted 4-Dec-2014
Pros: We request a roll out bed and before we got to the suite the roll out was by our door, sweet!!!
Cons: Keep people from hanging out in the hallways, there was this guy just hanging out in the hallway. Dude go to your room or to the bar.
Location: I liked the many shops and dine in places available around the hotel.
We arrived at the hotel around 11:00 pm late check in on Wednesday night, our first room smelled like an ash tray. We requested a new room due to the smell and they accommodated promptly. The following morning we woke up and headed to Clinton, IN for thanksgiving dinner with the family, there is many shops around the area and many great places to dine as well. Downtown Indy is not to far away and let me tell you, Indianapolis is second to Washington DC with the most US Military Monuments. On our second night, I decided to up grade [$150.00 upgrade] to a room suite. It was great, we had our own room my son stayed in the other room and watched his cartoons, we had our privacy. We also enjoyed the pool area an over all pleasant stay. We checked out on Friday morning and started our trip back to Chicago land.

Reliably clean and comfortable Hilton.

Posted 29-Nov-2014
Pros: Rooms are reliably clean, reasonably quiet and comfortable.
Cons: Shower's kind of "old school" with the head mounted at about shoulder height. The plumbing systems are a bit noisy, so you hear the pipes a lot.
Location: Castleton is a full-service area including retail, restaurants and services associated with a major mall just across the interstate from this Hilton.
Even though guests were smoking on the same floor where we were assigned a room this Hilton always seems a cut above the average highway junction motel. Fairly perky front desk staffers.

Will not stay there again.

Posted 14-Nov-2014
Pros: Staff was nice enough.
Cons: Mold remediation- remove toxic black mold. Many other updates are needed.
Location: I was traveling for business, so the location was very convenient and located near the office I was working with. There are plenty of resurants.
I reserved a King bed, but upon check in, I was advised there were none available so I was put in room with double beds. They promote their "Luxury" bedding, which is laughable since it was a scratchy blanket sandwiched between 2 sheets. Wireless internet is not complimentary and had to be purchsed seperately on a daily rate. The shower head had built-up residue clogging up the holes. It looked gross and obviously didn't have maximum water pressure. The most disturbing thing of all was when I notice the wall paper was peeling and when I investigated, I found a lot of toxic black mold. When I brought it to their attention, they said for my inconvenience, they would not charge me for the wireless internet, which to date the charges have not been reversed. Needless to say, I will not stay their again.
