it is an old hotel circa 1901 w/French flare. The rooms are large and clean w/a lot of hard wood use in its construction: floors, doors cabinets etc. It is close to the river that has a great walking path safe to walk at night with good view some of the life on the river, the historic bridge designed by Eiffel.

This was a nice grand hotel right in the heart of Hue. Everything was great except for the cyclo drivers that constantly following tourists even if you already have a ride and tell them no thanks. I found this the only real negative of Hue city... I know they are just trying to hustle but it's so annoying (when you're worse than a Thai tuk tuk driver you know it's bad). The breakfast was amazing and rooms are huge. Location is very central and close to the river and park

The hotel was built in 1909 and has wonderful ambiance - lots of historic photos and bonzai trees line the corridors. Despite it's age, it has all the amenities - modern bathrooms, pool and fitness center. And they have a wonderful buffet breakfast. The hotel is centrally located and an easy walk from the citadel and central market. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it and hope to stay there again!

lovely property. very central to everything whether it’s old or new hue. staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast buffet was above decent. pool closes a bit early at 8pm. some flies in the room, but would definitely stay here again.

This lovely hotel has retained and celebrated its historic charm as one of the oldest in Hue. It is located across the street from the pleasant riverside park/esplanade on convenient corner within walking distance of the CItadel, Hue’s star attraction, and the busy tourist quarter. My double room was enormous and had a balcony and very delux bathroom with a tub and the usual mini-fridge, TV and AC. The complimentary breakfast was lavish, covering Eastern and Western items. A bonus for me was that was served in the large, lovely outdoor patio. My only quibble was the charge for bottled water in the room which has been free in every other accommodation—simple to posh—in 2 months in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. It just seemed petty but maybe I am petty to mention this.

Very nice staff, the hotel is dated but clean and taken care of. My wife was scared, reminded her of the shining, she is 47, made me open the curtains so the room wouldn’t be scary dark. lol. Cool historical guest.

Good old historic building. Staff pretty friendly. Good price which included an ok breakfast. There is no bum washers on the toilets like most of Vietnam has. Just old fashioned paper😆

Really nice old style hotel right next to the bridge to the imperial city. Good dining options in the hotel although we prefer to eat out and experience the Hue life along the river areas but for people who don't want to there is everything needed in the hotel. Nice pool area and the water is warm!

Highly recommend
The hotel had a lovely view of the Perfume River from our balcony. It was ideally located and we were able to walk to the Imperial City and to Dong Ba Market. The hotel is a historic building and and the rooms are comfortable and clean. I highly recommend staying here!

Everything about the hotel is excellent, except for the soundproof or condition/location of the beds we could hear the sound of moving bed people making love next door. Might not be appropriate place with young children.

We stayed for 2 nights in July 2023. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the road, which was quite busy, so there was a bit of noise, but nothing unbearable. The hotel itself is a little dated, but was clean and everything worked. The highlight was the excellent breakfast which was served in the gardens and had some great Vietnamese and western options.

Wonderful staff. Incredibly helpful, responsive, accommodating. They are working on a needed renovation in a couple of years, and that should really make the hotel shine. This property reminds me of pre-renovation Raffles Hotel in Singapore. It’s rooms are large, the ceilings are high and the courtyard is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and available to help at any time. This hotel was one of our highlights for our trip to Hue.

A delicious breakfast buffet is served in the lush sunny courtyard. The pool is so pleasant after a full day exploring the city’s attractions. Perfectly located by the river board walk for people watching in the evenings.

Grande dame of historic hotels in area with beautiful location on Lo Loi boulevard facing Perfume River. Helpful, friendly staff. Lovely courtyard dining with good food. Because old building shower water pressure and temperature can be a little frustrating, but would definitely stay here again. Would be my first choice of hotels in Hue!

Have previously used this historical hotel and it is our favourite in Hue, great location close to most attractions. We received a free upgrade on check in, unfortunately the shower head was broken and there was no room safe only a note with an apology for the missing safe. I therefore requested an alternative room as the hotel was full this was not possible until the next day. Fortunately Mr Trang on reception was able sort out our problems both with the shower and safe within a short time and as requested we were moved next morning as promised. We enjoyed the rest of stay without any problems. Thanks again to Mr Trang Dave and Sal Yorks

The hotel has a long history as it’s 100 years old, they have tried to keep it as authentic as possible and still provide the comfort that travelers expect. Breakfast in the courtyard is great. The location is great and very convenient to dinning area.
