Recreation
A 111-meter (365-ft) pool sculpted in a series of channel-linked open areas and featuring a beach entry, built-in lounges, and a garden island is situated parallel to the beach. Adjacent to one end are an eight-person spa tub and a 6-meter-diameter (20-foot) toddlers pool containing a playground.
Although all beaches in Mexico are public, the resort's 300-meter (328 ft) frontage on Tangolunda Bay is accessible to the public only from the ocean, leaving the beach for the exclusive use of resort guests. Thatched-roof palapas provide shade on the beach and on a sunbathing lawn bordering the pool. Other palapas shelter an open-air massage area and a crafts/hair-braiding area (surcharges).
There are no water sports available on the beach. But an independent operator at the resort arranges water sports rentals/services such as personal watercraft, scuba diving, and fishing. Other recreation in the area includes river rafting (in summer rainy season) and ATV tours.
The resort offers an artificial-grass tennis court (surcharge for night play). The 18-hole championship golf course serving the Tangolunda area lies 3 km (1.75 mi) from the resort.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

“A small paradaise with a town in the pacific”
This is a beautiful hotel with very good service. We only had breakfast in the hotel, which was very good quality, with fresh and good shape frut. Ingredientes of the meal was very good quality. All the facilities of the hotel were in excelent condition, and maintained. The site was a nice paradaise. Two things I was not satisfied with were: Thee matress and linen were very clean, but not the quality we expected. Although it is a 3.5 Star Hotel. We had to pay for water left in bottles in the bathroom. Besides that I was very satisfied with the hotel in general. I highly recomend it. Very gogo price for what we got.
“We loved it!”
We visited this hotel for our honeymoon and had a blast. The town is amazing; everything at the hotel seemed perfect to us; we love it. The food is great, the view is beautiful, it was totally relaxing and very family friendly.
“Great hotel!”
Good service, confortable rooms
“We loved this hotel”
This hotel was a far beyond anything we expected. Everything about it was beautiful, hotel management and service were excellent, all food was very good, and all facilities were spotlessly clean. We went in August and their were very few tourists in Huatulco. I hear it is crowded in the winter but we really enjoyed the peace, quiet and lack of crowds. This was our first trip to Mexico and I didn't know what to expect. We will definately go back - especially to Camino Real Zaashila. Two possible negatives: there are many stairs, if you are handicapped it may be difficult to get around; also the waves are very rough in the bay. We loved the wild waves but others might not like them.
“Can't wait to go back!”
The hotel is stunning, the beach is steps from the outdoor bar, and the price was sooooo right! I had a room with a splash pool on the ground floor, steps from the outdoor pool and beach. I went before the tourist season so I had the whole place practically to myself. Loved it!
“Great Place for Families”
We took our 5 year old daughter here on her first trip outside the U.S. The service was great--warm and friendly people. Our room was quite nice with a first rate bathroom, comfy beds, everything functioned. The pool needs to be refurbished (peeling paint everywhere), but everything else was great. The beach is lovely--clean and quiet. Food prices at the hotel are quite high for Mexico, but the food at this hotel is far superior to any other meal we had in the area (including meals in town and at the other resort areas).
“My third trip back to the Camino Real Zaashila in the last 5 years. Oaxaca's Best !”
Although having returned to the same hotel for the 3rd time in 5 years, I still have two major issues of disappointment with the Camino Real Zaashila in Huatulco: 1) The hotel "Gym" is a real joke. It's a converted hotel room at the top of a hill where you can only get to by hiking up the hill for 15 minutes. The Air conditioning does not work. The excercise equipment is minimum, very old and delapitaded. Half of it does not work properly and the other half is worn out. It's practically impossible to have a serious workout in that place. 2) The Hotel does not have a Wheelchair or Handicapped system at all. To reach ALL the rooms, you must walk down a series of stairs in the garden that starts right outside the lobby. Then, you walk to clusters of rooms, where again you either have stairs to go up or down. Not a single elevator or escalator exists to facilitate access to anyone in crutches, or with an injured foot or leg, even less for the elderly, or someone in a wheelchair. The hotel must address these issues if they want to reach all types of travelers.
“Excellent Service”
The service was excellent, the only complain is for the beds they're hard.
“Very nice hotel - Great location”
Great Location - Great service - Very nice staff -Very clean
“Great Place”
We stayed at the Camino Real Zaashila for the second time in May. We loved it so much the first time that we were a little afraid the second time would not live up to our great memories, but it did! It's a beautiful spot, good food, with a great staff.
