Upon my arrival, I noticed the office attendee taking an extended break along with numerous infractions and discrepancies. For starters, I wasn’t informed that fecal material, urine, and bile would be splattered on the walls of the room. You could literally see the brown and yellow streaks splattered along the walls of the room. After 10 years of working in the Juvenile Detention Field, I can honestly say that I’ve never seen this level of uncleanliness from a hotel nor a jail housing inmates until now. Secondly, after the initial shock wore off, I noticed a small rodent or a medium roach scamper past my feet. Now I’m alarmed and I began to leave the room while securing my things. Upon experiencing this,I notice that the room wasn’t even clean. The comforter, for example, smelled soiled and had numerous cigarette burns on it. Upon seeing this, I immediately secured my belongings and called the front desk for assistance. After numerous unanswered calls via phone, I walked downstairs and rang the bell for assistance. It was then that I called the attendee and she said that all of the available single beds were dirty. This alarmed me because why would you intentionally give me a room that was soiled. As I began to inquire about a potential remedy for the situation, the representative stated that if I have to pay for the night even though they refuse to accommodate me.
