“Best Budget Hotel I've Stayed In, In Houston”
I'm not sure when the hotel was built, but it looked new and inside it was very smart and well looked after. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, everything in its place. There were even two coffee pouches with the coffee machine, instead of the usual one. The breakfast in the morning was much better than most budget hotels, with not just the usual waffles, cereals and toast, but also yoghurt, fruit, eggs and sausage meat. The wifi connection worked consistently and fast, instead of dropping out regularly the way happens in many budget hotels. If I had to find a fault, it would be that I would have liked the towels in the bathroom to be a bit bigger. Even the biggest was not that big, but at least they were perfectly clean and white. Overall, very impressed and I would happily stay there on my next trip to Houston, which is a regular occurrence.
“Fantastic value for money!”
For the price this Hotel was excellent. Not one of the bigger American chains, and only a two level building giving you both privacy and welcoming comfort. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and although I was not there on business I did notice they treated their longer term guests exceptionally well. My room was simple, clean, and the bed was very comfortable, although not high market styling, everything felt of quality. Spacious bathroom, marble top, and hot shower. Lots of towels, although it would have been nice to have one big one! Room also had fridge, microwave, coffee machine, desk and very comfortable work chair, as well as the flat screen TV. Housekeeping very efficient, so too self service breakfast which ranged from eggs and bacon to cereal and a healthy yoghurt. I did not use the sports room {bed too comfortable} nor the pool {weather too cold} but they both looked clean and well maintained. The wireless network was very fast and free. The only negative I can think of is the thinness of the walls. You could not hear the free-way outside, but I could certainly hear next door's TV all through the night. But I believe the volume it was on was slightly abnormal! And most seasoned travellers know to take ear plugs! I would recommend this Hotel and would come stay again if I were ever in Houston. Free shuttle to the airport was fantastic!
“Very Friendly”
Wonderful Hotel at a very reasonable price. I would definitely go back again.
“First Time Visiting Houston”
Since it was our first time visiting Houston we had not idea of how large the city is which made traveling a little uncomfortable. Everything was 20-30 away and our hotel was not the best location for tourist. The hotel is off a large road and leads to a road where travelers are driving fast which means if you're not aggressive you'll miss your turn. The hotel was overall clean and the breakfast was nice but there was a huge pothole in the parking lot which should be fixed immediately so that no one car will get damaged.
“Good value!”
If you want to stay near downtown Houston but don't want to pay "out the nose" prices for a hotel room, I would recommend this hotel. Although the surrounding area isn't great. Downtown Houston is only a short Bus/Taxi ride away. The hotel atmosphere is good, I didn't see anybody use the exercise room or swimming pool. The continental breakfast is no frills and have the basics (Texas-shaped waffles :), fruits, eggs, bagels, cereal, yogurt, coffees, & juices). There are no sidewalks and you will have to walk on grass/parking lots, the restaurants are mostly chain stores, but if you not picky about food you won't complain. The Business Center was a welcome addition because I wanted to stay connected despite not bringing a laptop. Everything in a hotel I wanted! I checked out an hour late because I was doing the Houston Marathon, they didn't make a big deal out of it; I will recommend this hotel to a fellow traveler.
“good stay”
office staff was very helpful and friendly...the night manager even took time to laugh and joke with us as we had a user malfunction with the gate
“Quality Inn Houston”
While my overall experience was good and the hotel was well kept and comfortable my initial check in was a bit rocky. When I got to the room they assigned to me I got all of my clothing and computer equipment set up to get some work done when I realized that the AC was not cooling. I called the front desk and was informed that someone would come take a look. I then got another call saying that there was already a note that before I got into the room the AC was broken. This would have save some inconvenience in having to move to a different room.
“just okay”
Near fast food/stores & highway.. has basic needs. No frills here.
“Nice Clean Hotel with adequate Breakfest”
One reason I went there was because I expected a hot breakfest (wanted something more than waffles and toast)... they had pictures of bacon and eggs. Eggs were cold and no bacon or any other meat... a bit disappointed... but everything else was clean and room was comfortable.
“Service is terrible”
I tried to save some money and stay in a 2 star hotel, and I will never do that again. When I pulled up, I saw a broken window on the front of the building. When we got our room, the mini fridge made a continuous noise that kept me from sleeping. The air conditioner sounded like a dripping faucet all night. When the toilet became clogged, they didn't come fix it. Instead, they GAVE ME ANOTHER ROOM! I had to move all of my stuff out, and into another room, which incidentally was much closer to the interstate. So now the fridge wasn't keeping me up, the trucks driving on the interstate were. The free "breakfast" is a joke as it usually is. It was cereal, wonder bread toast, and some pastries. There were holes in the walls in the hallway. It was terrible. Please don't stay here, unless you are really broke.
