“Great Place”

I have stayed several places in the Houghton/Hancock area. This was a great hotel. It was so clean and comfortable. I was very impressed!!! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were very satisfied with our stay. The staff was great. The free breakfast came in handy with a teenage boy along. The breakfast offered waffles, premade cheese, pepper, and onion omeletes, bacon, sausage, toast, cereal, boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, muffins and more, (much more than most free breakfasts at hotels.) The pool is small and shallow, but really nice after a day of hiking the forests and beaches. There is a hot tub and a kids splash area too. There is a small workout room off the pool that we never tried because we got so much exercise outside. The room was a good size. The bathroom too. The showers worked well. The internet was fast enough for movie downloads and work file transfers. My only issue with the room was that the wall unit air-conditioner liked to stop entirely at about 3 or 4 am, the fan too, which made me wake up from the sound change. The beds were very comfortable though which made up for it. My son and I enjoyed rock-hunting (We found copper!) and the whole family really loved all the parks and natural places up here. It is located near a Walmart but that was convenient for forgotten items from home and never caused too much noise or traffic.

I was skeptical when I made the reservations as I have never statyed at a Country Inn. I will definately stay again. The hotel lobby, rooms,etc were all very cleand and comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice.

“Great room”

The room was very clean and huge! We loved it here. I traveled with two small dogs and this was the perfect place to stay with them. Next time I am in Houghton I will stay here again.

Hotel was pretty new so everything was clean and well maintained so far. Staff was helpful and friendly, we had easy access to the areas that interested us. The only negative is you had to pay extra for the work out room, which wasn't worth the fee they wanted. These ammenities should be included for all guests.

“'Last leg of Circle Tour Trip'”

We arrived early, and called to see if we could get an early check-in, and were pleasantly surprised that we could. The room was great with a quiet location within the motel. Although during the night, we were serenaded by a number of semi-tractors in the parking lot which ran their engines all night long. Sorry to say, the rumble of the engines was loud enough to arouse us from our sleep periodically. But, the biggest problem was at checkout. We booked through Expedia, and the front desk clerk was inexperienced and unfortunately alone, and was quite confused by the bill, as it appeared our credit card and address were incorrect on their records. We had a tour to go on, and offered to return in a few hours when the manager would be there. Upon our return, we found everything was fine, but the inconvenience of our time to return was a bit irritating. Nice motel, might stay there again if we're in the area, but will ask to be moved if we see trucks outside our window.
