Our room was extremely noisy, there was construction going on until very late at night in the adjacent building so we could not sleep well any night that we were there. We told the staff and they said an upstairs room would be quieter but did not offer us any other options. We wished there was a gym on site. The breakfast was great, but we would have really appreciated boiled eggs. Having almond milk available for the coffee was great. I’m not sure why the upstairs room with a view was closed off most of the day except for breakfast and late night drinking. It would have been nice to use, since there is nowhere else to sit except for the bedrooms. The location is great. The bed in our room was very comfortable. The room was stocked with shampoo and soap, no conditioner.

I love the location, it's expensive if you have a smaller room, but that's because it's central Oporto.

I can only say positive comments about this hotel and staff. We stayed here for 1 week. Our room was big, clean and quiet. The staff was wonderful. They helped us with information about things to do in Porto and they were very nice. The continental breakfast was included too. Thank you Filipa and the rest of the staff at Vera Cruz Hotel. You guys are awesome!

Very friendly check-in staff, with really good communication skills. The room is as expected for the level of hotel. It was cozy, with plenty of storage. The bathroom was good quality with the shower providing decent hot water, however the toilet which was wedged into a small alcove of the bathroom which made a very tight fit when sitting on it. WiFi is included and very fast and no outage. Breakfast is included and is simple continental fair, but very tasty and kept us going until the early evening. Location is very close to the clubs and bars, but we heard absolutely no noise at all. Would definitely visit again. Thank you

Hotel clean. Breakfast adequate. Staff very friendly. Booked a superior room. Bedroom unfortunately very small and bathroom even smaller. Couldn't get elbows out to use hand basin. Shame really. Flight cancelled so moved to 3 star hotel, with large bedroom and bathroom, including breakfast for a comparable price

Great hotel in fantastic central location and great value for money. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, and all spoke perfect English which was very handy as we had absolutely no Portugese. Help yourself, continental breakfast included, with plenty of choice and nice restaurant location on roof top with views over main square. Booked a standard double, room fairly small and bathroom compact but no complaints, both very clean, clean bedding and good shower. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend if you're planning a few days in Porto.

Hotel wasn't bad, but needs updating. Room was very clean but the bed was lumpy and had a wooden frame that every time my husband moved, it made noise. The drapes were red and the light shades were red. An easy fix there to a neutral color would work wonders. Breakfast was the usual European fare -- nothing hot -- some cold cuts, yogurt, pastries.

I booked a standard room in what I thought was a two star hotel in a good location. I did not expect luxury. What I got was a tiny room with a wardrobe with 3 hangers, all of which were too big for the wardrobe, drawers that were filthy and too small to put a folded t-shirt in, noise from everywhere( worst noise from the kitchen and breakfast room on the 8th floor above, so we had kitchen equipment banging in the evening and then as soon as early morning came the sound of people preparing for breakfast). The double bed was clean, very short and not very comfortable. The bathroom was reasonably new and clean. After complaining twice and being told there were no other rooms, we suffered the first night saying that I will move if the noises from above in the kitchen didn't stop. The next day I complained again and was told they had another standard double Room, this was even smaller and only just big enough for a not very comfy double bed. So we moved to another hotel. All I wanted was a room with a reasonable bed, places to store our clothes and enough quiet to sleep properly. I did not expect luxury. I have stayed all over the world in motels and hotels of every grade, through business and leisure. This was the worst. Do not trust the 2 stars, book somewhere else.

We booked a family room for 4 and when we arrived this family room was not available. We were placed into 2 double rooms. Upon check out, the attendant tried to charge us when we booked through hotels.com. Okay pluotel for one night stay.

Excellent hotel in the center of Porto .
This is a perfect hotel in heart of Porto. 5 minute walking to train station . The perfect choose !!! We love staying there. Very helpful staff and nice breakfast to start your day .

Great central location. Staff were wonderful and helpful. Hotel is a little dated but charming in its own way! Breakfast basic but plentiful and luggage storage a +. Would definitely recommend for budget travellers, we really enjoyed our stay.
